Me and My Green Thumb
NOT!
So I have 4 ferns on my front porch. I try and water them everyday but sometimes I forget. They're huge and they hang over the sides... why don't they perk up or are they supposed to? I shook them today and a lot of dead leaves fell off. Am I supposed to 'prune' them or what? Please tell me what to do with my ferns!!
In other areas of the yard....
I have a magnolia tree but its weird. One day it has leaves and the next day it doesn't. It just keeps losing its leaves... no blooms. What's wrong with this tree???? I would say its dead but it can't be dead if it keeps making new leaves... right????

You have to go to the store and get some ______
normally is filled in with... white raisins (yogurt covered raisins), granola bars, orange juice, apples or whatever it is she wants that we don't have!
I hear these words a lot from Darcy. I guess she's heard them a lot from me. Whenever we're out of something then I say I have to go to the store and get some... well now she's asking for a firetruck. She keeps telling saying "you have to go to the store and get a firetruck!"
She's wearing this construction hard hat that she thinks is a fire helmet... she just needs a fire truck to play with now.

My Big Girl
Darcy has been using the potty for the last 4 days. She hasn't been doing all of her business in the potty but she's used it off and on. Today she used it all but once! I'm really proud of her. She started to potty train herself when she was 13 months old... no lie but it was short lived with the twins arriving and us moving several times. I decided that I wouldn't push it but instead wait for her to show interest. Well these last few days she's let me know when she has to tee tee.
Tonight we were calling family members to tell them of the excitment. Aunt Nae (my sister) told Darcy she was going to bring her a surprise for using the potty like a big girl... well thats all we've heard about since then! In fact, when Darcy called Matt's parents to tell them she asked if they were going to give her a surprise too! LOL she said "you give me surprise?" it was really funny. Anyways... she's done so good today but I put her to bed with a diaper on just in case.
I bet having 2 in diapers will be a lot cheaper than having 3 in diapers!!!! As of now we go through a case of diapers a week!

Beach Freak
Jessica left this morning at 3:30am. She spent the night with a friend and her father was the one that got them to the church.... Thank God for him! Cause I would have had to load up the kids in order to get her there... Matthew would have to leave before I could get back home.
I've been to the same camp she's at but I was much older. I'm a little nervous about this b/c they basically have teenagers watching my kid with a few parents there too. She's 11 and it will be her responsibility to apply and reapply sunscreen.... along with many other things. I just hope someone is watching my child. There have been so many things in the news lately about missing children on trips just like this. I not only worry about that but things like... is someone going to be watching her while she's in the ocean???? at the pool??? crossing the street??? We gave her several speeches and hopefully she'll be aware of her surroundings at all times. And I think they big on the buddy system too. I'm sure she's going to be just fine and that she'll have wonderful time. Just pray she doesn't come home fried!
One more thing... the friend that she spent the night with, Brooklyn, is having a rough time. Her grandfather ended up in the hospital this past Thursday night and they're not giving him much longer to live. In fact they're saying he'll die any day now. Poor Brooklyn was really torn about whether or not she should go but her family convinced her that her grandfather would want her to go and have a good time. Please keep her in your prayers. She's a really sweet kid and I know this is heavy on her heart right now.

Darcy is 2.5 now... I was just posting this picture to show a friend the dress.

Saturday... already?
I got used to Matthew being home by 3 and now he's back to working overtime and doesn't get home till 4pm. He's also working today too. I'm not sure how long the overtime will last. We can really use the money but I miss my hubby. It seems like we don't have enough time during the week as it is b/c we're feeding babies, bathing babies and putting them down for the night. By the time thats done then its matthew's turn to bath and get ready for the next day. It doesn't leave a lot of time for just the two of us. We need a mini vacation for just the two of us!
Today we had a list of things we needed to get done... that was before he found out he was working. It was mostly things that he would be doing and I'd be supervising but now I don't have my manpower.
I'll spend a good part of today getting Jessica ready for her week long beach trip with the church. Every night when I lay down I think of one more MUST have thing that I've gotta pack. I don't want to forget anything.... a week is a loooong time. Anything could happen!
Well I'd better get moving... I have a lot of little things I need to take care of. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
Church is a possibility tomorrow.... whooo hoooo!

Walmart Trip
I took Darcy to walmart with tonight hoping to wear her out.... it didn't work. On the way there she was sucking her thumb... I thought she might fall asleep before we ever get there... she didn't. I left Matthew at home so he could have some alone time. I haven't taken Darcy to walmart much... I can probably count on one hand how many times. She did alright. We went quickly by things that might catch her eye and I tried to distract her... it worked. We did end up with a few items not on the list.... fruitloops, granola bars and a treat at the checkout line. She wanted me to hand her everything and let her drop it in the buggy. She sang the whole way through the store... 'We're going to the store' in the tune of Hi Hoe Merry Oh (??). She caught everyone's attention. No one was able to walk by without smiling :) Thats my girl!
We're home now and she's not sleepy!
We're home now and she's not sleepy!
yada yada yada
Last night my parents came over to eat with us. We had turnip greens, chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy... yummy! Before that got here we did a quick clean up on the house... it was over due. The whole house was vaccumed, sweep and picked up... leaving me not much to do today :)
My back was bothering me last night and nothing I took relieved it. I ended up sleeping in Darcy's bed b/c she was in our bed and I was tossing and turning. I was in her bed for all of 20 minutes when the door opened. I thought it was Matthew checking on me but it was Jessica... sleepwalking! She's done it several times since I last mentioned it. But last night was odd b/c she came into Darcy's room. I'm not sure how Darcy would have reacted had she'd been in there!
Today I've taken care of things that I've been putting off... like calling about pest control! LOL Out of nowhere we've had horrible bugs... roaches and other tiny bugs! When I was talking to the lady on the phone she said that most people carry them in from the grocery store. I immediatly remembered how about a month ago I had opened a brand new never been opened before box of gritts and the box was FULL of bugs! They started crawling out on me and some were flying!!!!! I guess thats the start of our problem! I had so much going on at the time that I never called the store about it... I just let it go and actually had forgotten it until she made that comment. Hopefully we can get rid of them! Its pretty embarrassing when they're crawling on the counters when your folks are over for dinner! And of course my mom lectures me about if I'd clean up the kitchen and not leave food out this wouldn't happen.... fact is I DO clean up the kitchen and we NEVER leave food out b/c we know it causes bugs!!! Thats just a mom for ya!
Matthew and I are trying to plan a quick trip to Pine Mountain, Ga. They have a 3 1/2 mile safari that you drive through. There's also some other cool things to do in the area. We're hoping to go sometime in July if all works out. We need a vacation... although I hardly consider 2 nights away from home a vacation but its better than nothing! And it will be just our little family :) I think it will be the FIRST ever vacaction with just us and the kids.

Weekend Recap
Sometimes my weekend seems like a blurr... I'm having a hard time remembering what we did Friday night. OH WAIT.... I just remembered! LOL Friday after lunch I had the opportunity to earn some extra cash by helping my mom's office. I met them for lunch at the office... STIX (office treat) and then closed 2 loans. I really enjoyed getting out of the house and doing something so important. I love being a stay at home mom but sometimes I miss the professional world a tad bit. Friday night Matthew and I just hung out with the kids.
Saturday we had to be at Top of The River in Gadsden by 5pm. We gave everyone baths and then dropped off Darcy and the boys at his parents house. Matthew, Jessica and myself enjoyed a meal with my dad's side of the family. Afterwards we thought about dropping by City Stages to catch some of my old friends play but we decided against it for SEVERAL reasons. We ended up grabbing the littles ones (and Oscar) and coming home. Sunday we didn't make it to church b/c the boys eyes are still snotting green... which reminds me I need to call the doctor again today. I'm not sure if its still an eye infection or if its allergies... but whatever it is its lasted LONG enough! We did go to Matthew's parents house to eat lunch with his parents. Matthew racked up on Father's Day.... he got clothes... lots of em.... even some new boxers :)
Well Darcy's begging me to 'get outta puter room' so i'd better go!

The Reason
The reason why people have kids close together in age is so they can keep each other occupied! I can't wait till the boys are more mobile... then I can stick them in the back yard with Darcy and they can play with each other!!!!
Jeremiah is walking all over the place but Jacob doesn't care for it to much. Jeremiah also makes the cutest face ever while walking (and sometimes just for the heck of it). He kinda reminds me of a bull dog... his bottom jaw sticks out really far and he shows his bottom teeth. Its really cute! I'll try and get a picture of it for ya.
Jessica's home... she had a great trip.

Can you believe this!?!
Monday night Matthew and I had just finished watching Fox 6 News at 9pm. We got in the bed and had been laying there talking for a while when the phone rang. At first I thought it was one of Jessica's friends but it wasn't... it was a telemarketer!!!! Of course I couldn't understand him completely b/c he was from overseas but I managed to get the point across to him that we weren't interested and that it was against the law to call after 9pm! I told him to not call back again.
LAST NIGHT.... yep... at the same time he called again!!!!! I wasn't as friendly.
Today I've filled out a complaint with the FCC. If he calls again tonight I'm going to get his name and the phone number... I don't have caller Id and *57 didn't work. I know the name of the company but I really need to get his name and the number.

OMG!
Yesterday we took Jacob and Darcy back to the doctor for their follow up appointments. They've seemed fine but we wanted to make sure their ears were better since last week when we took Jeremiah his hadn't gotten any better. Sure enough Jacob's ear was still infected! The doctor gave him one more round of antibiotics. Darcy got a clean bill of health. But guess what happened this morning!?!?! Darcy woke up with her eye completely matted shut! I'm going to call the doctor and see if she can call in something.

My speller
While we were in Elamville Matthew's parents took Darcy to Walmart. In the middle of the store she said " I want a T O Y" yes she spelled it!!!!! CeCe (matt's mom) said she was very impressed and all the other mom's were looking at her with amazement.
She walks around here sometimes jabbering about things and then you can pick up on her spelling things... I guess she hears us spell things a lot so she copies us. Early she was saying "i wanna go T O Y T!"
She can spell cat.

My poor baby
Look at his poor eye... its gotten much better since I took this picture but it also looked much worse at times!
Pitching a FIT
We tried to bribe him with a sucker but it didn't work. My digital camera died before I was able to take a picture of Jacob's haircut. But Aunt Amy took some with her camera.
TA DA
Here's their new look... Matthew has a weird look on his face b/c he was trying not to laugh. Jacob is on the left and Jeremiah on the right.

Back
We went down to south alabama this weekend to visit some of matt's family. The kids all did great in the car... its about a 2 1/2 hour trip. We left Friday night and just got back about an hour ago. We went to visit matt's great aunt helen... turns out she's coming up tomorrow for a doctor's appointment! LOL But it was a nice trip and it gave us time to relax.
Jessica is Arkansas with my mom. She called me earlier to tell me about her treehouse. They're staying in a REAL treehouse. She's very excited. They'll be home Wednesday. They plan a trip every year for Jessica's birthday... with volleyball starting soon they had to go a little early.
I've got a lot to unpack so I guess I'd better go.
yep you called it alright. why wouldn't i get my feelings hurt? i guess i shouldn't have been so surprised.

My List
I made of list of things last night that I needed to take care of asap. Out of 16 things on that list I've already taken care of 6 of them today. Some of those things weren't easy getting accomplished but I did it. I love that feeling afterwards too.
We had to keep our home phone in order to keep our internet service through them.... which I thought my be the case. We don't have any other phone service provider down here and the only other internet providers are extremely high. So I dropped our phone plan to the lowest possible thing I could get. I am not able to dial long distance calls from my home phone but I have my cell phone for that.
We're supposed to go swimming this afternoon with some friends. I made the mistake of telling Darcy earlier so now she's walking around my computer room as I type this singing her own special song... here's what I've picked up on so far "wait wait wait till daddy gets home then we go swimming with luke and ian" its to the tune of row row row your boat. She's soooo funny. She makes up songs all the time. Some to the tune of others and some to their very own tune.
Some other funny things she says now are...
"gotta brush you teeth or they fall out" we've been trying to express the importance of brushing out teeth :)
"whats that smell" or "whats that stink" followed by "my breathe?" LOL or "you" or "my butt butt" LOL
well i've gotta run... we're supposed to leave tomorrow night to visit Aunt Helen in south alabama... and Jessica leaves on her trip with my mom to arkansas tomorrow as well.

blah
thats how i feel right now. i've gone round and round with our phone company every month about crazy charges. they've disconnected our home phone and for once in my life i'm not trying to manipulate a situation but i'm telling you the god's honest truth when i say they are in the wrong. our dish and internet is through the same company... they've disconnected our dish but not the internet so i feel it will only be a matter of time before its gone too.
Matthew and I got cell phones tonight through cingular. We even got Jessica one too... strickly out of a need basis. I'm not going to post my phone number here but if you think you need it and you didn't get an email with our new numbers than please email me at mnjdbrock@yahoo.com.
Hopefully my internet will be up for a few days so I can let everyone know whats going on.

I'm weird I know
I think about posting this question everytime I dry off but I never remember it later... but I did today. Here's my weird question....
I have hair on my towels even after I wash them.... so when I'm drying off I'm picking off hair off of me and the towel... how do I prevent this??? Its so gross... I wouldn't want anyone else to use my towels b/c I'd be embarrassed.

Productive Saturday
We haven't gotten around to shaving the boys head yet but hopefully we can still work that in.
I went to the local consignment shop to look for PJ's for the boys... I came home with a little tykes picnic table, a pair of shorts for Jessica and a jacket for Darcy = $20. No PJ's! Darcy loves her picnic table... its a big one with a place for an umbrella... guess we'll have to buy one. We have NO shade in our back yard during the middle of the day. We have 3 small tree's but they're not big enough just yet.
We've also carried FOUR loads of junk to the goodwill box down the road. Its all stuff left over from our garage sale.... shoes, dishes, clothes and all sorts of JUNK! We're trying to make room in the barn/garage for things the are supposed to be in there! LOL Matthew's putting up his workout thingy now... I was helping but I got hungry... I skipped lunch. I did sweep out the NASTY bathroom in the barn. Its looking better. We moved all the storage type stuff upstairs in the loft and we're going to use the bottom part for stuff we use often.
Well I'd better get back out there... not that I'm much help with my hurt back but if I'm not out there to give orders he might get lost!!

The Road to Recovery
My back is MUCH better today. I'm still nervous about picking up the little ones but I feel fine. I was able to sleep upstairs in my bed last night.... well I left it in the middle of the night b/c Darcy came to our bed.... and b/c Jacob kept waking up A L L night long so finally I went and laid down with him in Darcy bed. He snuggled right up to me... it was sooooo sweet!
Jeremiah's eyes are clear for the first time since the tuesday before last! I hope it doesn't take as long for Jacob's eyes to clear up. He has just gotten to the worst part of it but hopefully since they changed their medicine it will clear up quicker! Jeremiah and Darcy both have a really bad diaper rash. I think its b/c of all the medicine and pooping.
Other than the diaper rash, Darcy is doing fine.
Jessica still runs an occassional fever but I think she's getting over it.
I'm still coughing but thats about it.
Matthew made french toast for breakfast... i'm sorry ladies that you didn't marry the BEST MAN IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!
I'm hoping to buzz the boys heads today. One day I put their hair in ponytails on top of their heads and they looked like little girls! They're hair is soooooo long!

doing better
i slept in Jessica's room downstairs last night. i was afraid to try and go up them. I had her bed all to myself. I slept with the shocky things on my back all night long. I woke up this morning and was surprised that I could actually get out of the bed without bursting into tears. I still have to be careful b/c I could be back in that horrible state with one wrong move.
hahaha... this is a good one... my parents were over here last night and everyone was concerned with how I'd function today with my back out. Jessica's home but she's pretty sick. Well after they left my dad called my grandmother and asked her to come help. when he got off the phone my mom told him that he might wanna check with me. He called me and said granny was coming over to help. I told him that I appreciated the offer but I think we'd be better off without her here. ya kinda have to be careful about granny with my dad.... we don't really have much of a relationship. she's got osteoporios (i can't spell who cares!) and she can't pick up my kids so i really didn't see that she'd be much help... instead she'd drive us all crazy! He was a little upset but I honestly don't see how he thought she'd be helpful.
well i can feel things tightening up so i'd better lay back down.

ARE KIDDING ME!?!
The boys just woke up. Jeremiah is much better - not 100% yet but on his way. Jacob is pretty sick. He is like Jeremiah was last wednesday - one of his sickiest times. Both of his eyes were matted shut which scared him. He's got a fever. I grabbed a washcloth to wipe his eyes with and the water is turned off! I could get a couple of drips out and I tried to clean his eyes with cold water... he didn't like it! After I got him calmed down I called city hall to find out what was going on. They've turned it off for an hour so they could do something... I let her have it!
i started this post this morning around 9:30 or so.... its 9:57pm and i've just gotten to a point where I can sit without crying. In the middle of writing the above paragraph I heard Jacob sneeze so I ran in there to wipe his nose and when I bent down to wipe it I felt something pull. I've been to the chiropractor already and have been told to go to bed! Thats a little hard to do with 4 kids! My wonderful sister in law came over right away (actually she was on her way already to just hang out) and she took care of all of us. I was and still am in a lot of pain. I was told to stay on my back all day and get up every 45 minutes and walk for about five minutes. No bending, sitting, pulling, lifting or basically anything for several days. my mom brought over her shocker thing and i've had it hooked up since around 6pm.
jessica came home this evening and she is really sick. i'm not sure how we're going to make it tomorrow but I know we will. please keep us in your prayers... there's absolutely no way that matthew can take off work and its really bothering him.
thats all i can type for now.

just a little update
Yesterday was almost a normal day. We got in so late the night before that the boys needed to make up for lost sleep yesterday. Jacob woke up around 10am and Jeremiah slept until noon! Their nap times were a little messed up b/c of it. They still had matted eyes and snot yesterday. And even some low fevers. They actually got in the floor and played for the first time in days! All in all is was a good day. I was even feeling better... still coughing a lot but much better.
Matthew has to work 10 hour days this week to make up for being off Memorial Day... which makes me mad! The jobsite he was on shut down for memorial day but they didn't want to pay him for it so if they want to get 40 hours then they have to work their butts off this week!
Darcy woke up this morning with no snot in her eyes! whoooo hoooo! The boys aren't up yet but I'm hoping for a huge difference. I'll let you know later :)
Rocky's surgery went well. He's still in critical ICU so they watch him but they feel comfortable with him.

The Good and The Bad
I have good news and bad news...
which do you want first???
Lets go with the good...
Our dear friend Rocky, who has CF, is in surgery right this moment getting a double lung transplant! This is an answer to prayers for him and his family. He and his family will have to temporarly relocate from Huntsville to Birmingham for about 8 weeks during his recovery. Please keep them in your prayers b/c financially this will be difficult.
Bad news...
We showed up at the doctors office at 4:30 and went back sometime after 5pm. Jeremiah ears looked worse today then they looked last Tuesday when we took him. The medicine hadn't done any good. The shot they gave Jacob in the emergency room didn't phase him either. His ears looked pretty bad too. Darcy also has an ear infection! The doctor changed all their meds and loaded us up with new stuff. She said they had - now i'm know i'm not spelling this right but i'll try- she said they had the adno virus and that it pretty much just had to run its course. Jessica's other grandmother took her to the doctor this afternoon and her doctor said she had the SAME virus. He gave her some meds too.
Matthew had to leave work early today in order to help get everyone to the doctor. We're still feeling pretty icky ourselves. AND We had to cancel our beach vacation. There was just no way we'd try and go with all of us feeling as yucky as we are and it doesn't look like we're getting over it any time soon... at least not before thursday (thats when we were supposed to leave).

same ole crap
as i'm writing this post i'm totally drained. i was hoping that this morning Jacob would be much better since he had such a powerful shot yesterday in the ER. But when he finally woke up (around 10:30pm) he was running a fever of 102.7. I've had a horrible experience with the doctor's office this morning and finally after speaking personally with the doctor we have an appointment at 4:30 for all three little ones.
Jessica's nanna picked her up about 5 minutes ago... she's taking her to the doctor (jessica see's the same doctor as me and matthew - not the pediatrician). I'm hoping that he can figure out whats wrong with her so we can get this taken care of right away.
I had to call matthew home from work b/c I thought we'd be going right away to the doctor's office but instead he could have worked a normal day but I didn't know that when i called him home. i think he's frustrated with me... or maybe just the situation. i think his boss is frustrated with him. we're supposed to go to the beach this weekend but i'm pretty sure thats not going to happen.
matthew and I aren't 100% ourselves which makes it even harder to take care of the little ones. darcy has been pushing our buttons. the boys are extra whinny and jessica is really tired but she's still helping us as much as possible.
please pray that we have a good experience at the doctor's office. pray that they can tell us something more than just an ear infection and pink eye! I'm about to pull a denzel washington on some poor doctor's office... remember that movie where he took the doctor's hostage until they'd agree to help his son... well i'm almost there!

Our Memorial Day visit to the ER!
We were invited to my parents house for lupper. We waited for the boys to wake up to leave and thats when we realized Jacob was burning up. His temperature was at 103 and we had given him motrin before their nap. We decided to go ahead and go to my parents house. We gave him some tylenol and headed out (around 3pm). By the time we got to my parents house he was pretty much out of it. He just layed there motionless. At 5 we gave him some more motrin and at 5:45 his temperature had gone up to 104 so we headed off to the emergency room. We waited for about 30 minutes (I expected much longer) and then we were able to see the doctor. He gave Jacob a shot and sent him home with a prescription. We went back to my parents house to pick up the other little ones and headed home. I'm hoping this shot does the trick. Tomorrow I'm calling my doctor about Jeremiah... who's still not better but hasn't ran a high fever in a few days. This has got to come to an end! Darcy still has occasional fevers and her eyes are gooky. Jessica is now running a fever and complaining about her throat hurting.
matthew has to go back to work tomorrow... he's still not 100% yet and neither am I. Please pray for all of us. We really need to put this behind us!

no subject
The last couple of days... more like WEEK has been really frustrating for everyone. Matthew and I have felt horrible ourselves so taking care of sick kids on top of that has been extra difficult. I definitely have to give my husband most of the credit. He has been Mr. Mom and then some.
Jeremiah started all this mess and you'd think by now he'd be better but he's the worst one. His eyes are still red and at times the snot oozes out. He runs a fever off and on. He coughs up nasty junk but of course he doesn't know how to spit it out. He still has a really horrible snotty nose. I feel so bad for him.
Jacob has been back in forth with it. One day he's fine the next he's not. Last night he woke up in the middle of the night with a 102 fever... no snot and no eye infection. Today he seems better.
Darcy still has a little bit of snot in her eye but she's her usual self.... in fact I don't think she's slowed down a bit!
Jessica, up until last night, has had a little cough but she said she felt fine. Last night she went to church with my mom and when they got home she was running a fever. This morning she says her throat hurts.
Matthew says he feels like normal today... but normal for him is not normal for us. He always battles allergies this time of year. He's got cabin fever. I hate that his looong weekend was spent house bond with a bunch of sick people.
Me... well i'm still coughing up junk and at times I go into a coughing fit but for the most part I'm better than I was.
Please continue to pray.... we're supposed to leave Thursday and as of now its still an IFY.
Last night Matthew and I rented PPV... we watched The Holiday. It was cute but I had a really hard time getting past the fact that the words didn't match the movement of their mouths. It was weird but luckily Matthew said he noticed it too. We wanted to watch the Pursuit of Happiness but we didn't get to it... maybe tonight.
We're going to my parents house around 3 to grill out. It will be nice for all of us to get out of the house. But I'm sure its going to take every bit of my energy to get us all there! LOL
Hope everyone has had a nice loooong relaxing weekend with their families. Don't forget our soldiers and their families.

Update on Morgan
well first of all let me clarify what happened. She and her best friend's sister were meeting her best friend and her parents at Joe's Crab Shack. They were in the turning lane about to cross over oncoming traffic. The traffic was stopped and the other cars waved them across. There was a SUV in the far lane that was flying... it hit them on Morgan's side. Morgan's door was shoved way inside. They're not sure where Morgan went to because she was wearing her seltbelt and had nowhere to go.
Morgan has a fractured pelvis and is black and blue. She's in a lot of pain. She doesn't remember anything about the accident.
The accident was there fault since they were the ones going into traffic.
**** I was in a very similar accident a few years back. Traffic was stopped and they waved me across... and in the far lane someone didn't stop and hit me... it was my fault for the same reason. So the next time you're waved across traffic or you think about waving someone else across traffic - DON'T! ****

GREAT!
Darcy has the eye infection now. Jacob is feeling much better but Jeremiah is still pretty sick. It all started with Jeremiah and I thought that he'd be better by now but really theres no change with him. I feel so bad for him.
Prayer Request
My cousin Morgan, Bev's daughter, was in a serious car accident yesterday on Hwy 280. The car she was in was at a stop when a SUV was trying to beat the traffic and hit them on Morgan side of the car. Morgan was rushed to Children's where they did all sorts of test. She doesn't remember anything about the accident. She was knocked unconscience (sp). She's got blood in her urine and a fractured pelvis. They kept her overnight to observe her. Please keep her in your prayers. She's 13 years old and is in a lot of pain.

I saw this story on one of my friend's xanga's... its really touching so I thought I'd share it with you. This is what she wrote:
I don't know if I have ever shared this here so forgive me if I repeat myself:
After Hurricane Katrina-while we were collecting clothes in the trailer at church to go to Mississippi, a few victims from New Orleans got placed at Shelby. Annette Turner told me about this one little old man and said he had been in the military and had lots of tatoos. She wondered if my brother- also having tatoos, she said (LOL!!) would be interested in going to the hospital to visit and just try to cheer him up.
Well, you know me...so I said yes, I will call Richard and we will go see the man at Shelby. Right this second, I cannot even remember his name. Richard and I went up there and this little old man was not what we expected. He really was little about 5'4" and his waist was a 48. He had been in the Navy and he did have lots of tats! He was so sweet and funny-he had the perfect New Orleans accent-precious man!
He told Richard and myself about being in Katrina- he lived in the 9th Ward where the hurricane came in and stayed under water for weeks. He had been up drinking coffee and he had his screen door open -just enjoying the morning. He was returning to his chair from the kitchen and when he looked out the door, he saw water up to the door of his pick up truck. He actually rubbed his eyes because he thought he was seeing things. Just that quickly his house began to fill up with water. He ran to the second floor and just as fast as he could go the water came behind him. he climbed out a window to try to make it to the roof without realizing the water outside had already reached the window. He grabbed a gutter on the side of his house and hung on ....he did not know how long he had been there...the water was fast and several times he almost lost his grip. He started talking to Jesus, he said, "Jesus if you don't save me, I cannot save myself. If you can Lord, help me." At that moment his neighbor from a third story window threw him a rope and he had to swim for it- going with the rush of the current. He was terrified and he continued to talk to Jesus all the way. He got the rope and he was dragged to safety.
Eventually a group of them were taken out in a boat and taken to a shelter. Please remember this man was about 70 or so and had been in the Navy during the Korean War. He did not have any food for 3 days and only one bottle of water. He had asked someone if he could have ONE drink of their water and they refused him. He did not know how he ended up at Shelby and did not even remember being taken there. His story was gripping- it made my heart hurt to know he was just one of so many that needed help and could not find it.
He lost everything he had, his War Medals- everything gone. We did what we could to clothe him and help him get in touch with his family- everything worked out by God's grace and he was a huge impact on me and Richard!
I went through all that to tell you this part of the story....even though he had been through the worst part of Katrina, had been terrified and certain that he would die...the thing that made him cry was talking about the Korean War. He cried and cried when he talked about his friends that had died and the worst part was when he looked at Richard and me and he said, "Do you think God will ever forgive us for the horrible things we did to those people?" I lost it, Richard lost it. It broke my heart that for all these years he had been carrying around that burden and had never had the courage to ask someone or talk to God about it- because it was so awful to him.
So over this Memorial day, when you pray for our soldiers, pray for their peace of mind. Pray that they will understand we serve a forgiving God that loves them and paid a price for them much like the price they pay for us. Don't forget that when they come home, they have seen some terrible and unspeakable things and they could use a friend or a Savior. Offer them your hand, your shoulder, your love and support but most of all don't foget them.

The Sick List
Matthew is suffering from a bad sinus infection that he went to the doctor for about 2 weeks ago. He's coughing up mucus. But he doesn't complain.
Me - I've been taking a strong antibiotic that the doctor gave Jessica the last time she was sick. It seems to be helping me. I'm coughing up mucus too! I also have gone through a roll of toilet paper with blowing my nose! My ears are still sore. Yesterday I felt horrible. I didn't want to move. My body was so sore. I think I ran a fever but the only thermometer we have is the one I use for the boys and its a rectum one.... not going there with me.
Jessica is home now. She's worried she's going to get sick but I've told her to wash her hands often. She's been a little congested over the last week but hopefully thats all just due to the weather.
Darcy is been a little snotty lately. No fevers and no eye junk. Just snot! She did tell me yesterday that if I gave her a popsicle it would make her feel better. LOL
Jeremiah is still really sick. He looks horrible. He's still running high fevers and we've been alternating motrin and tylenol every two hours with him (and Jacob). His eyes are yucky. He just lays in your arms and seems so helpless. its pitiful. Green snot pours out of his nose. He's the worst one out of the bunch.
Jacob woke up yesterday from his nap with the eye infection in one eye. Luckily the doctor gave me drops so that if anyone else got it I could share the drops. He ran a low fever yesterday. He doesn't seem to be as snotty as Jeremiah but who knows when that will change.
I hope we can all get over this soon. We're supposed to go to Ft. Walton next Thursday to visit Matt's family. There's also a HUGE pirate festival that we're taking Jessica to. We're looking forward to getting away.

Family Update
Jeremiah, if at all, has a really low fever. PTL!
Jacob is fine.
Darcy is acting a little off. She slept until 10 this morning... didn't take a nap and then went to bed at 6 this evening. I hope she's not trying to get sick on me.
Jessica is fine. Her last day of school was today. She's spending the night with a friend tonight.
My parents came down to visit but didn't stay very long... they just wanted to check on Jeremiah. I don't think I said this in my earlier post but my mom came down last night after midnight just incase we needed to take Jeremiah to the ER.
Matthew and I are both tired. Its 8:05pm and we're going to bed.... I pray to God our phone does not ring.
Thanks for all the prayers... please continue to pray.
Oh What A Night!
This all started back on Sunday. Vickie walked with me to the nursery after church to see the boys. She asked me if Jeremiah had pink eye and I said no that he'd just be crying. Little did I know she was right! His eye was just a little red... as the day went on we thought he'd scratched it. It wasn't oozing anything out. Monday it was still red but still nothing else was going on so we continued to think he'd just scratched it... until yesterday. Matthew got him after his nap and BOTH eyes were matted shut. I had gone down to the neighbors to talk and when I got home he was feeling pretty bad. At this point it was already after 6pm and I knew the doctor's office was closed. I took him temperature and sure enough he had was running a fever... 102.2. I called the after hours office and the doctor called me back. She said it sounded like pink eye and told me if his temperature got over 102.5 then we may have to bring him in. We gave him motrin and put him to bed. Around 10 he woke up. Both eyes were matted shut again. I used a warm rag and wiped his eyes off. We laid on the couch for about 30 minutes... he gulped down a 8 oz bottle of juice (bottles always seem to work better when they're sick). We laid down in our bed b/c I wanted to keep an eye on him. Sometime after midnight I felt something really HOT touching my back and I jumped.... it was his foot. He was burning up!! We took his temp and it was 104.2 I called the after hours office again but they took forever to call me back! Finally I called them back and the lady told me it had ONLY been 15 minutes since I called and that it could take up to 45 minutes before they were able to call me back. Lets just say I was speaking to someone within 5 minutes! However, they still said he didn't need to come in. I was a little frustrated but I did everything they said to do. At some point I had even called Jessica's other grandmother (she's a nurse at children's hospital) and gotten her advice. Jeremiah was up most of the night crying. He was soooo limp and it scared us. We prayed over him, sang to him and tried everything to get him to rest. Finally in the wee hours of the morning he went to sleep. It was only minutes later that matthew's alarm clock went off and it was time for him to go to work!
I had already made up my mind I was going to be waiting at the doctor's office when they opened this morning. I took his temp and it was 103.8. I gave him so more motrin and by the time we reached the doctor's office it was down to 102. The doctor said he had an eye infection, ear infection and was congested.
My poor fella was so pitiful looking during all of this. I

911 Adventure
Saturday night around 7 pm we put the boys down for bed and decided we would go to the store and leave Jessica here with the boys. (darcy had spent the night with my sister) This was the FIRST time ever to leave her alone. I told her before we left that if anything happened to get the boys out of the house and to call 911. I even said if you're not sure call 911. I had no idea that moments after we would leave she'd have to do exactly that.
The store is seriously 2 minutes from our house! We hadn't got past the produce aisle in the store when they started paging "Matthew Brock you have a phone call in the office." We looked at each other and for a minute we thought 'no way it can't be' but right away they paged him again and we knew something was not right. It was my mom on the phone telling us that the smoke alarm had gone off and Jessica had called 911.
We bolted out of the store. We could hear the sirens heading our way. We pulled up in our yard the volunteer fire department guys were already there and two fire trucks pulled up the same time we did. Jessica was in the front yard crying and the boys were beside her smiling and eating grass. She was a basketcase. She kept saying I'm sorry I'm sorry. We calmed her down and told her there was nothing to be sorry about. She said my dad had screamed at her for panicing and calling 911. Which let me go ahead and tell ya... I laid into him about that! and he apologized to everyone! I told Jessica she had done EXACTLY what she was supposed to do and I was sooooo proud of her.
The firemen came out of the house and said there was smoke inside but they couldn't tell where is was coming from. The went over the entire house and came back to let us know it was our dishwasher. A tubberware lid had gotten in the bottom and was burnt enough to cause enough smoke to make the alarm go off. He told us that house fires can easily be started by something as little as that.
All of the men were extremely nice. They all told Jessica was a good job she did and thats how people save lives. We were very proud of our very brave daughter.
When all of this happened she was on the phone with mom bragging that she was alone babysitting. And all the sudden the alarm went off and she told my mom what happened and that she had to get the boys out. She threw the phone down and got them.
She said she knew right away she had to get her brothers out. She got them BOTH out of they're cribs and carried them BOTH at the same time down the stairs. She said when she got to the door she had to drop them to unlock the door. Jeremiah fell and hit his hand on the vent and it left a little knot. Then she said once she got the door open they started crawling out the door and one of them crawled off the porch and hit his head! LOL Poor girl... I can only imagine the stress she was under. Once she got them outside she called 911. In the meantime my mom and dad were eating supper at my sister's house nearly 35 minutes away! They paniced and called information to get the number to the grocery store which happened to NOT be listed. My sister has a friend that lives down here and she knew the number by heart. They finally were able to get Jessica on the phone and by that time the fire department was here.
All in all it was a pretty scary experience. But we know that we can indeed count on Jessica to do the right thing. She was afraid we'd never let her stay home alone again.... it may be a while but we have no doubts that she is responsible enough. I'm so proud of her!!!!!!
I didn't proof read this so maybe you can understand it.

I made some new friends... which is a good thing since my old ones have disappeared on me.
Its actually a family that goes to our 'old' church. Funny how when we decide to leave we meet a really awesome family and it almost makes us wanna stay. Anyways this family lives down the street from us. Its kinda funny how we met. I was trying to fix the son up with my sil... i think its working :) And in the meantime I've become friends with the whole family. Mom and Dad are in their late 40's maybe early 50's. Son is 24 and Daughter #1 is 21 and Daughter #2 is 10. They're an 'all natural' family which we find really interesting. We've been doing our research. We've already made some changes in our eating habits. (is that with one B or 2?) Yesterday I took Jessica and Darcy over there to visit their new goat. Darcy wasn't one bit shy. She got right inside of the goat house! She fed him out of her hand too! I was really impressed. We ended up staying for a few hours just chatting while the girls played. By the time we were ready to leave Jessica and Becca had come up with a plan. We fell for it and Jessica ended up spending the night :)

Long Distance
My phone company really stinks! From the time we moved here in July of last year up until this past March every phone call I made was long distance. But in the middle of March that all changed... or so I thought. One day out of the blue I didn't have to dial 1 plus the area code to call Shelby County. I called to find out what happened but no one could explain why it was different all the sudden.... until this past week. I've always had to call the phone company every month b/c something is always wrong with my bill. Finally this month I was able to find out exactly what happened in March. The guy that I spoke to in March gave me an 'optional local calling plan' which meant he changed it without my authorization and didn't tell me he changed it. Basically it would have been great if I was making calls SOUTH of here but considering I was making calls NORTH those areas weren't included. I was actually being charged MORE money than before but it wasn't showing up under my long distance charges but in some other area that really didn't make sense. I've got it all straightened out now and was credited those extra charges. But its back to all calls being long distance. So if you don't hear from me anymore than you know why.

God Stuff
I could type something really mushy about Mother's Day but thanks to some others they've already said everything that needed to be said. LOL I had a great one!
I haven't decided if I'm going to share this on my xanga so you guys might be the only one that hears this.... feel special ;) wink wink
Over the last 9 years or so I've gone through valleys and sat on top of mountains. It was about 9 years ago that I became a christian. Since that time I haven't always acted like one but it my heart Jesus was always knocking. I had disappointments in my life that really angered me. From people very close to my family going through a divorce to people that I looked up to not being all that I thought they were.... but they were only human and you can get yourself in trouble when you start looking at humans to be Jesus for ya.
I've had people come and go from my life.... thats probably one of the hardest things for me.... letting go. But I've heard it said over and over about how some things (including people) are only in your life for a season.
Years ago I left my church and found a new one. I know it was God that led me to my new church because in the time there I matured in every sense of the word. I stepped out of the shadows of my parents and it felt good.... REAL GOOD. I left my reputation behind and created a new one. One that I was happy with. Matthew and I grew as christians and with that growth we became better parents. And we grew closer together as well as closer to God. We also surrounded ourselves with Godly friends.
Lately we've felt like the seasons are changing. We've been in prayer for a while now about our children. During the time that Matthew and I were at our new church Jessica would still on ocassion (and more so since the boys were born) visit our old church. She actually has gotten very involved in the youth there and she loves it. Most of the kids she goes to school with also go to church there. At our current church we felt like there wasn't anything there to offer our kids. We struggle to get Darcy to stay in the nursery and its seems like the nursery workers aren't very eager to help us get her adjusted. Going to church is dreadful for us b/c we don't want to go through her screaming and pitching fits.
This past Sunday we went to church with my mom for Mother's Day (our old church). We took Darcy to the nursery and I saw familiar faces incharge of her class. I started to explain to them that Darcy is going to scream but she would eventually calm down. The guy looked at me and said "okay" and then he stretched out his arms to Darcy and said "come here sweetheart" and ya know what happened next....... She went to him with no problem. I thought Matthew and I were going to fall out on the floor!!!!!!! I had to stay in the doorway to give them her information and she never looked back. She was F I N E !! And she was fine the entire time in there! At that moment I felt like it was a sign from God but I didn't say anything to Matthew.
We went into the sanctuary for the service. I enjoyed praise and worship... I always liked it before. But the preaching didn't really do anything for me. The one thing I can say about my current pastor is that he uses scriptures when giving his message and he leaves out all that yelling junk. I know that at the end of his sermon if I feel a tingling in my heart its not b/c he played on my emotions but its because God was doing something inside me. He's a teacher. Anyways, I got a couple of points out of the message but I felt like he was chasing some rabbits ;)
Last night while Matthew and I were laying in bed, we started talking and we agreed that our children's needs are more important than our own. We really feel like God is leading us back to our 'old' church b/c thats where our kids can benefit more. We know that we need to get something out of going to church too but we're just hoping that God will do something in that area. But right now its more important to us that our children experience God at church and in sunday school class.
I still have some issues with things that have gone on there in the past but I know how much I've changed in the past 9 years so I'm praying that those people have also changed.
As for me and my family.... we will be returning to Kingwood.

ANNOYED
I realized around 9 o'clock this morning that I hadn't changed Darcy yet. Normally, She wakes up with a soaking wet diaper and just minutes after I change her she fills it up again. Not this morning! It was sometime after 9 that I had realized she hadn't been changed. I checked her diaper and it was DRY AS A BONE. I paniced b/c I just knew they'd want to put her on IV's and after reading Melanie's xanga post about Kyan I was worried to death!
I called the doctor's office and asked to speak to a nurse. I had to leave my name and number and was told someone would call me back. Well I waited almost an hour then I decided to call them back! I was polite but I was quickly told they were short handed this morning and someone would be calling me but it might be this afternoon. Well thats when I wasn't so polite. I told the nurse that my daughter may be dehydrated and I was NOT waiting until FRIDAY AFTERNOON to find out what I needed to do! She got a nurse on the phone. The nurse wasn't very helpful. I felt like she was patronizing (sp) me and that pissed me off. FIRST she told me that her not having a wet diaper when she woke up was normal for this age.... I said maybe for this age but not my daughter. Then she kept having conversations with other people while I was on the phone with her... sometimes in the middle of my sentence and sometimes in the middle of her own sentence!
While I was on the phone Darcy peed. And of course the nurse said, well as long as she's going every 6 hours she's fine. She also said if this continue's over the weekend I might need to call back. I said Lady this has gone on since LAST sunday and now you're telling me on Friday afternoon that if this goes on throughout the weekend you might want to see her? Why not see her now? She said she didn't need to see her b/c she peed! WHATEVER! Then she continued to tell me that I needed to keep liquids in her, make sure she's urinates every 6 hours and if her fever gets to 104 or higher to call.

WHAT!?!?!
I just got finished cleaning up frosted mini wheats off the kitchen floor.... they'd already been eaten!
Darcy has managed to throwup every other day since Sunday night! What's up with this virus!?! She has hardly eaten anything and I know she must be hungry! She sat with me on the couch this morning and shared a bowl of cereal but it wasn't even 10 minutes later that she puked!
Poor Baby.... I don't know what to do for her. She's been sipping on Sprite since Sunday!

update
Not the flu.... a sinus infection. Matthew has always had horrible allergies. He took a late afternoon nap and then went back to bed at 8pm (we all did). He ate 2 bowls of chicken noodle soup. We watched A Night at The Museum.... pretty cute but LOOOONG. He went to work today but still feels horrible.
moving on...
Darcy has been symptom free since Monday. Last night she slept with us and around 10:30 she woke up crying. We couldn't get her to tell us what was wrong and we were getting frustrated. All the sudden she sat up and puked ALL OVER US! We stripped down the bed and tried to give her a bath but she wasn't having it. We went from our KING size bed to her FULL size bed. A little bit later she's still crying and we're asking her if she needs to throw up again but she says no. Finally, she tells us her butt butt is hurting and starts passing gas. A minute later she fills up her diaper with diarrhea. We managed to get back to sleep but it was an uncomfortable night. We've not had any incidents since last night.
I'm okay and the boys are fine.
Jessica spent the first part of the week at an overnight fieldtrip and then stayed last night with my mom so they could go to church.... which she didn't go b/c she was tired. My mom said Jessica took a nap after school and stayed in the bed all night long. She didn't eat much supper. I sure hope she's not coming down with anything.

The Twins
Jacob and Jeremiah are getting so big! 25 pounds last time we took them for a checkup! And they're really long/tall. 31 inches!
Jacob talks more than Jeremiah.... although they only say momma and dada but Jacob says it all the time. I was a little worried that they might be behind but I've found out that twins are kinda in their own world together. They supposedly have 'twin speak.'
The boys don't wave, clap, point or do paddy cake but I'm not too concerned.
Jeremiah is taking more steps than Jacob. He'll just let go and start walking! He turns himself around like a robot!!! It's really cute. Jacob will walk but Jeremiah seems to be letting go more.
They fight over toys!!!! Even if they both have the SAME toy one of them will drop theirs for the other ones!
Jacob used to be my sleeper but nowadays its Jeremiah. Jacob is the last one to fall asleep and the first one to get up! Jeremiah LOVES his blanket that Aunt Denise made for him. As soon as he's put in his crib he hugs it. He sucks on the tabs ;)
When they get up they both start jumping up and down when I walk in the room to get them. Its hard to decide who I'm going to pick up first b/c as soon as I do the other one starts crying.
They've been playing more and more in there room. I put a baby gate up in their doorway and they spend a few hours in there in the morning playing.
Here's some things that annoy me...
When someone says "Twins! I feel sorry for you!"
When people say "Oh _________, he's the fussy one" or something along those lines. They're personalities are still developing and just because the last time we were around HE was crying doesn't mean he's the fussy one!!!!!!!
Looks I get from folks when we have all our kids with us.
I HATE I HATE I HATE the stupid remark that people say "you know what causes that right?"
Or when people feel the need to ask if we're gonna have any more! Like its their business!!!!!!
I'm sure I could think of more things but Darcy is begging me to play with her. Better go!

Better go!
A few things
I canceled Jessica's doctor appointment about the sleep walking. I did some research online and its pretty common for girls at this age. And theres even a few things you can do to help her relax at night so she's not so active in her sleep.
Everyone seems fine today. No fevers. I'm very thankful.
Volleyball tryouts are next week... pray that Jessica makes it and that she actually gets to play the position she's been practicing for.... setter.
Some of you will not know what I'm talking about but others will.... guess who's old enough to go to Beach Freak with Kingwood's youth group? JESSICA! Can you believe it? It was that long ago that I was going to Beach Freak - too funny.
Jessica informed me that she didn't want any "OLD" people at her birthday party this year. No grandparents, aunts, uncles or any of my friends.... JUST her friends.
I love watching Deadliest Catch on the Discovery channel. It comes on tonight at 8pm. Its about the Alaskan crab fishing season.

IF its the bug then its moving slow
She did throw up twice last night and she's had a few 'accidents' but nothing like I've heard others having. Maybe everyone's prayers worked... who knows. But she is running a fever today but we've had no throw up.
The boys seem fine so hopefully we're safe.

IT BIT DARCY!
The nasty bug has made its way to our house. Darcy woke up about an hour ago and with no warning threw up all over the kitchen floor! I immediately put her in the tub to clean her up. I left her alone for just a minute when I hard a strange sound... I walked into the bathroom to find floaties... she's got diarreah. Those are all the symptons that everyone else I've known to have this virus had. Please pray for us. I don't know what I'll do if all my babies get this at once. I am not super woman!
I called the after hours care and the nurse said all we can do is give her gatorade, sprite and emetrol... she did not call in any prescriptions and yes, I asked.
gotta go lysol everything!

THINKER HUH?
I was chosen by BETH to receive the "Thinking Blogger Award" I'm honored ;)
Now all I have to do is choose 5 other people and pass the award along. Those five people have to chose another five people and link them to their page. I don't even know if I read 5 other blogs but I'll try.
1. Tiffany's blog b/c she keeps it real and I appreciate it. It's hard to lay it all out there for people sometimes but she shares the good, the bad and the ugly.
2. Dana's blog b/c she too shares her ups and downs.
3. Stackie's blog(S) b/c I love to hear all the things that go on in her busy life and being so far away it makes me feel a little bit closer. I LOVE all the pictures.
4. Jamie's blog b/c shes so in love with her family and I love hearing stories about the things her little men do. I laugh a lot when I read her blog.
5. Crystal's blog b/c she has a lot of insight on things... all things. Her blog is very entertaining and she also post a lot of pics.
I'd pick the rest of you but most of you never update anymore!!! Mel you'd definitely win this award if it was on xanga ;)

DETENTION!?!?!
Jessica got detention yesterday for the first time ever... and hopefully the last time but I'm sure thats only wishful thinking.
In English class they had written poems and were reading them outloud but Jessica didn't want to read hers outloud. One of her "friends" asked to see it but then she started reading it outloud. So Jessica took off across the room shoving people out of the way. Another boy stood up to block her and she started shoving and punching him. The whole time this was going on the teacher was telling Jessica to stop but Jessica was ignoring her and said "not until I get my paper back!" All three students, jessica, the girl reading the paper and the boy that stood up to block her got detention.
The part thats in italic is what the teacher wrote on her detention slip. Jessica said that she stopped when the teacher told her to and that she never said "not until I get my paper back." Now I'm really not concerned over the he said she said crap. But what does bother me is that if it really happened how the teacher said it did then why didn't she tell the girl that was reading her paper to stop? The teacher said that Jessica never gave her the opportunity to stop the other girl but again in the above paragraph it seems she had time.
I am not upset with Jessica. At this age kids do not want to be embarrassed and thats exactly what this other girl was trying to do. I would have been upset if Jessica was the only one to get detention but thankfully the teacher was smarter than that.
Here's some questions that come to mind about this ordeal....
What kind of classroom does she run that students would get the impression that they could get away with something like this?
If the teacher had time to tell Jessica "the whole time this was going on" to stop then why didn't she have time to tell the other student to quit reading her poem?
I realize that Jessica reacting the way she did is not healthy. I realize that she has a short fuse. I've seen her go off on her cousin before. I've heard her talk about the boys at school bugging her and her hitting them. We've had several talks with her about keeping her hands to herself. Last night, Matthew and I searched the internet for some sort of anger management workbook for her and I to do together.

Purpose?
I'm doing a wednesday night study at my church called Becoming a Woman of Purpose by Cynthia Heald.
I really wanted to get involved in some sort of woman's group and I thought this one sounded good. Sometimes in my new job role I feel like I don't have a purpose but really I know I do... its just not what the world sometimes see it as.... which is somewhat funny to me. There's those woman who push for equal rights and all the crap but at the same time they wanna be stay at home mommies when its time to have children.
--- Anyways I don't wanna get off on that subject. What I was going to say about my new bible study is this... I have a hard time being put on the spot about 'what I think a verse means' and what makes it more frustrating is when you're told to read ONE verse and write what it means to you. It doesn't always mean something to me and I don't think it should be taken out of its story and forced to mean something. I think you should read the whole chapter/section/story/whatever and then piece it together and find the meaning. This little workbook we go by has several verses to look up and write down the meaning and half of them i've left blank! geez.

I don't know who's who... sorry. I think... well no I really don't know... I should have labeled them.
EWWWWW
Look at Jessica's face... too funny! she did not hold the snake... thats matthew behind her with the snake. This was probably 3 years ago... maybe 4... I know it was before Darcy but not sure if I was pregnant or not.
splish splash
This is actually Darcy bug... I think this was just before her FIRST b'day. I was just saying to Matthew that she did a lot better in the bath tub than the boys... we still have to hold them down or either get in with them b/c they flop all over the place!

Sleepwalking
Last night Darcy woke up with an empty cup... normally I'd make Matthew refil it but last night I got up and did it myself. I think it was God thing b/c Matthew wouldn't have been awake enought to notice Jessica was taking a shower at MIDNIGHT! Yeah!
So anyways I come downstairs and I hear the shower on. Jessica's door was open and her light was on. I thought something was wrong. I opened the bathroom door and here's the conversation
N (me): Jessica, are you alright?
J: Yes
N: what are you doing?
J: getting ready
N: do you know what time it is?
J: no
N: Jessica its midnight
J: not uh
N: jessica look at me
she sticks her head out
N: Jessica is 12 o clock at night... you need to get in the bed
J: okay
so i walked back to her room to see if her alarm had gone off or if the clock was wrong but it wasn't. she didn't know what had woke her up.
I talked to her today and she said she didn't remember much... she said she remembered getting undress but nothing before that and then the next thing she remembered is checking the water and it being too hot so then the next thing she remembered is me coming in there but she doesn't remember anything in between.
This is not the first time she's walked in her sleep but this is by far the most dangerous thing she's done. I called her grandmother (nurse standifer) and she seemed to be concerned too. I made her a doctor's appt for monday. The nurse at the dr.s office said they "may" need to do a sleep study on her.
I did some research today and its really not that uncommon for kids to sleep walk... in fact the most likely age is between 11 - 12... she'll be 12 in july. but like i said she's done this several times before but this scared me b/c what if she'd decided to take a bath? I just don't want her to do anything that could hurt her.

THANKS!
The underwoods were going to sell this in the yard sale but we took it off their hands before they got a chance.... Everyone loves it!
