What an eventful day

Let me just tell you about a day in the life of Nicole...

Woke up at 6:25 to take Jessica to school. First had to change diapers, crank the car (it was iced over), make bottles, refill sippy cup. Loaded up everyone. Scrapped the windows with my CVS bonus card and drove off. Getting to school always takes longer b/c I'm with the flow of traffic. Drop of Jessica at 7:40 head home. Get off our exit and Darcy throws up. She hasn't gotten car sick in a long time. But she threw up BIG TIME. I couldn't pull over b/c I wouldn't be able to take her out of her seat and it would only make things worse. I just kept talking to her. We only live about 4.5 minutes off the interstate. The car begin to stink. I drove up in the driveway, unloaded the babies and as I was walking towards the door I noticed it was WIDE OPEN! Jessica was the last one out and she was carrying Darcy. I never checked to see if she'd close the door. I walked inside and looked around just to be safe. The house was freezing... it was 28 degrees outside! I went back to the car to unload Darcy. She was covered in chunks of throw up - soured milk. This is where I might be offering too much information but its kinda funny.... if you know me than you know i have a week stomach for smells. Well as I'm trying to get her out of her car seat I started gagging... well since I've had 4 kids gagging = peeing... so here I am about to throw up trying to get her out of the seat and the whole time I'm peeing on myself! LOL yes I just shared this on the WORLD WIDE WEB!! I finally get us inside and we both ended up in the bath tub. I had to leave the boys strapped in their carseats watching Barney so we could clean up.

Okay so that was just this morning all before 8:30am. The rest of the day was pretty normal. I chased the boys into various parts of the house and feed the bottomless pit aka Darcy all day. Everyone took naps... including me :)

Just before Matthew got home I was playing in the floor with the boys. Darcy wanted to watch Dora in her room so I put Dora on and walked back into the boys room.... next door. My mom called, we talked for maybe 2 minutes. I smelt a dirty diaper so I let her go. I picked up Jeremiah and realized it wasn't him. I heard Matthew drive up so I walked to the window and waved. He came up the stairs and said "what is that smell???" I said "I think its Jacob... unless its darcy but if its Darcy then she must really have a bad one for me to smell it in here." Well just as I got that out of my mouth he peeked into Darcy's room and found her COVERED in POOP!!!!! If I had thought about it I would have taken a picture but the site and smell of it was almost a repeat of this morning for me. And matthew was fighting off throwing up himself. She literally had her hands covered in it. It looked like she had been playing in a mud pit. Her hands squeeshed when she moved them... YUCK! When she saw us she started straight to her daddy with her hands held out for him to pick her up. Needless to say we had our hands full. Their was chunks of pooo in the tub. I had to scrub her, myself and the tub. Then I scrub the floor. It was H O R R I B L E!

For dinner tonight I was going to make Turkey burgers for Matthew. The only kind of turkey I could find was the kind that was wrapped in a tube like sausage. I'd never bought that kind before but I figured it would be okay. Well I was wrong. I put all the usual things in there but it was so soggy... or something. I was a job to cook those booogers... i mean burgers. The smoke alarm kept going off b/c there was something on the eye or either on the bottom of the pan. It was just crazy. Anyways we just finished our meal and I thought I'd tell ya about my day. Its only 7pm we've still got time for plenty more drama!!!!

Scratch That

Forget what I said about Matthew getting a work van. Its not going to happen b/c apparently he and his partner didn't check it over with the big boss and apparently the other guy is the only one that can take it home b/c he's 'over' matthew. And if you take the van home then you're pretty much on call 24/7 and would more than likely be going alone... which b/c matthew doesn't have his journeyman's care 'yet'... he cannot do anything alone.

But he's been studing really hard and he's taking the test again in March. I think he'll pass with flying colors!

Whoo hooo

Matthew called me at lunch to tell me that they gave him a company work van. He gets to drive it home which will save a lot of wear and tear on his truck. The best part is... they gave him a gas card! Thats going to save us almost $100 a week!

I have something exciting to tell you about....

some of my faithful readers may remember a while back I talked about friends and how we need to always make time for them. I told you guys about a friend of mine that I had grown up with named Melissa. Well to make a long story short we both got pretty busy and lost touch for several months. One night after watching a sad movie I decided I'd call her dad's house (her parents were divorced and she moved around a lot). I dialed the number and her step mother answered the phone. Turned out that Melissa had died a few months earlier in a car accident. I was devasted to say the least. That was 1999. Since that day I've thought about her a zillion times. I had so many unanswered questions.

Recently I had a friend tell me she'd found someone she'd gone to high school with by searching google. Right away I went to the computer and I was able to locate Melissa's family's website. I had tried many times before to search her but never went to google.com I emailed the only family member on that page that had an email address. Weeks went by and I heard nothing. Last night I checked my email and there was an email from Melissa's grandmother. She asked for my phone number and I immediately replied back. Just moments later she called and I was finally able after so many years to ask all the question I had wondered about.

I've talked to Granny Pearl today and I also recieved an email from Melissa's mom. I'm just sooooo thrilled to have finally found them. God is so good.

I am!

9 month check ups

Yesterday my mom and I took the boys to their 9 month check up. We were the first appointment of the day (which I'll have to remember to do that again b/c that was the first time EVER that we got out of there under 2 hours!). The nurse that came in to weight the boys stunk like cigarette smoke. I wanted to say something to the doctor about it but my mom said to leave it alone. But seriously... if you're going to work in a CHILDRENS doctor's office and handle CHILDREN then you need to keep that in mind before you smoke a pack on the way to work. SHE STUNK!
Moving along ------> Anyways so Jacob and Jeremiah both weighted 23 lbs even and 30 inches long... except Jeremiah had an extra 1/2 inch to his length. I asked the doctor about baby foods b/c my boys dislike the stage 3's and I hadn't started them on the little treats that melt in their mouths. I thought I was a little behind with them. The doctor said that at 9 -10 months is the time to try the stage 3's and the treats so that made me feel better. I had also asked the doctor about bumps on their hands and when to be alarmed. Jacob had rammed his head into the cabinets and he had a huge knot. She gave me the whole spill about watching them for four hours and if they throw up I should be concerned. Well last night I went to Jessica's game and guess what happened????? Jacob fell out of his high chair on his head! Yep... so Matthew freaked out and called my mom who told him everything the doctor had said but he still ended up calling the after hours nurse just to make sure. And of course Jacob was/is fine.

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word

THONG

I think GROSS!

Now please don't be offended by what I'm about to say (type) but when I think of thongs I see young girls in low riding jeans with their thongs showing. I don't think... A good way to hide panty lines. A few months ago someone gave Jessica a bag of hand me down clothes.... there was a pair of RED THONGS in there. Of course I threw them away b/c I think for an eleven year old girl thats not appropriate. I think when young girls start worrying about what underwear they wearing its time for parents to worry about what they're doing. Am I right or just too overprotective?

A Very Proud Momma

I was able to go to Jessica's basketball game yesterday. It was in Montgomery. The last few games I've been able to go to she hasn't played. But yesterday she sat next to the coach. The game was very close and there was a lot of fouls. Jessica nudged her coach and said "I can take number 23.... she's the same size as me and I can take her!" Her coach said "okay then go get her!" It wasn't too long after her entering the game that she got the ball. --- One of her new years resolutions was that she was going to shoot b/c up until now she'd been too scared to shoot.--- With everything in her she jumped and shot... and she wasn't close but wasn't in the three point zone...

IT WENT IN!!!! NOTHING BUT NET BABY!!!!

And the crowd went wild!!!!!! I was jumping up and down (I almost cried!!!) but I wasn't alone. Everyone was on their feet screaming!!!! Her coach was going crazy!!!! It was such an awesome moment that I hope to always remember. Her first basket! They ended up winning the game by only 3 points in overtime. It was a great game!

Let it GO!

Let it go for 2007
By T. D. Jakes

There are people who can walk away from you.

And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk.
I don't want you to try to talk another person into
staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone. When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

The bible said that, they came out from us
that it might be made manifest that they were not for
us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just
means that their part in the story is over. And you've got
to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you
something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me.

And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains .

LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and
see your worth.....

LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you ........

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or
talents .

LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude.......

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better......

LET IT GO!!!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take

you to a new level in Him......

LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken
relationship.......

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try
to help themselves......

LET IT GO!!!

If you're feeling depressed and stressed .......

LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so
used to handling yourself

and God is saying "take your hands off of it,"

then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things.
GOD is doing a new thing for 2007 !!!

LET IT GO!!!

Get Right or Get Left
think about it, and then ....

LET IT GO!!!

I miss you!

Darcy's new thing is to say "I miss you" and sometimes you might even get a "i miss you more" - too cute.

We played outside all weekend long with her new toy. Its a huge blow up ball that you can actually get inside! She loved it... and to think that I thought she'd be scared of it - what is that kid scared of?

The weather was crazy warm. We were burning up with our jeans and t-shirts on. Jessica actually put on shorts! Does this mean we're going to have a really HOT summer or does this mean we're going to have a late and COLD winter like the blizzard of ninty - something?

Sewing 101

I got a sewing machine the Christmas before last but I've only used it a handful of times. I really want to learn to sew. It can be a great way to earn money and just to be happy knowing you can make something! other than making babies i'm clueless! LOL

Hancock fabrics offers sewing classes but thats all the way in Hoover! I've wrote down some numbers for some shops around here... maybe they'll know of somewhere to take classes.

Recently I went to Old Time Pottery and bought some really cool fabric for $4.99 a yard. I figured that I would just buy fabric that I liked randomly then maybe one day I'll actually make something.

My craft room is still a mess but I not complaining b/c my hubby does so much. Hopefully will get it together soon.

You can make a killin on ebay with diaper bags and stuff.

My Boys

Jacob and Jeremiah are growing soooo fast. Jacob crawls more... and he sometimes crawls on his hands and knees. Jeremiah pulls up on everything! I've got to lower their mattress or else someone is going to tumble out! I walked in their room the other morning and Jeremiah was leaning over the crib rails!!! YIKES! Darcy was 13 months old when she climbed out of her crib. And from then on she slept in a bed.

They have their 9 month check up on the 22nd of this month. I'm curious to see how much they weight. I swear they weight MORE than Darcy. They seem to be moving a little slower than Darcy did... but i'm okay with that. It could be b/c I don't have as much time as I did with Darcy.

Its raining its pouring

Darcy begged us all day yesterday to go outside. Finally after her nap we said yes and we started getting her dressed. Matthew opened the door and guess what..... It was raining - HARD! We hadn't noticed b/c we'd been watching TV with the shades down. But Darcy was determined she was going outside!!! So we did what any good parent would do... we let her play in the rain!!!! And she loved it! Don't worry it wasn't lightning or anything.... it was just pouring down rain... and not even cold! She played outside for about 20 minutes. She played in the left over left pile... she made leave angels. She splashed in every puddle she could find. She was muddy and soakin wet! We had to strip her down at the door and take her straight to the tub.

I took pictures... I'll try and post them one day ;)

Duvet or Quilt

We were able to take back the duvet cover that Matthew had gotten me for Christmas. He intended on getting me a duvet after Christmas but didn't realize how much they cost. He bought me a duvet cover from Pottery Barn. We tried to ghetto rig it and put it over our comforter but it didn't look right. And I was a big fan of the one he picked out... neither was he once he saw it. So we took it back to the store Saturday... but they would only give us an instore credit(which is being mailed to us) since we didn't have the receipt. We thought we'd swap it out for a quilt but they don't have a lot to choose from... we did manage to find another duvet cover that we both liked and it was a different texture so it had a different look than the one he'd gotten me. I guess we might end up buying a duvet after all...

It was a Date

Matthew and I spent the whole day together Saturday - Kid Free! His parents watched them during the day and my parents came Saturday night. We spent most of the day taking back christmas gifts. Saturday night we used our gift card and ate at Stix. We also managed to sneak in a movie!!!! We saw The Good Sheppard. I actually picked the movie out but I had a hard time keeping up with it. We had a great time together. It was a very much needed date ;)

Another Random Post

Sometimes I lay awake at night and think of all the things I want to do to my house. And often I hear myself say "when I get it the way I want it"... well do we ever get it the way we want it? Or are we constantly doing more things? Last night I rambled off a list of things to Matthew that I would like to do... things from paint the trim to paint furniture and all sorts of things in between. Don't get me wrong... I'm very happy in my new home... and I love all the things we've already done but its like my wheel never stops turning! A lot of it takes my husband actually doing it... but I'm going to see how much I can accomplish my own.

Last night I cleaned out and organized my closet... now I can actually use it as a closet instead of a place where all the unpacked boxes hide out.

Am I being Silly?

C'mon tell me the truth... cause I know you will!

I'm a Florida Gator fan... my mom and sister are both Auburn fans. For christmas they bought the 3 little ones Auburn clothes. When I pulled them out of the bag I laughed and said you gotta be kidding me?! I said "what makes you think I'm gonna put my kids in Auburn stuff?" They both got upset b/c I said I was going to return them! Now am I being silly or was that just dumb on their part to think I'd go along with that?

Ebay!

I have a really hard time spending $30 plus dollars on shoes for the little ones... esp since their feet grow sooooo quickly. I got on ebay last night and found SEVERAL lots (2 or more) of shoes. I bid on a few... actually I'm bidding on 6 pair of shoes for the boys... I think so far I've bidding a maximum of $20.00 for all. And I'm bidding on 3 pair for Darcy thats $6.00! I don't want to bid on any single pair... unless its just a must have... its a lot more cheaper when you bid on a lot... even if you don't like all of them. I did find a lot of 36 pair of boys shoes from baby to young boy... but I don't really have a place to store a bezillion shoes... and most of them looked really worn. Hopefully I'll luck up on the ones I'm bidding on. Darcy is down to a pair of brown dressy boots and the boys wear socks!

Wild New Year's Eve Party

So here's the 411 on our Rockin New Year's Eve Party...

We invited some friends over for chili and games. Those that showed up were:

Brian & Aimee with their 2 sons
Michael & Heather
Amy & her friend, Mandi

We played the same game that I played with my family on Christmas. I have to say I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Brian & Aimee left around 9pm or maybe it was 10... anyways their little ones couldn't hold out any longer. Amy & Mandi left probably around 11 or so. Michael & Heather stuck around until the wee hours of the morning... I think they left around 2:30am!

My Year in Review

2006 was a year full of learning experiences for me.

Matthew and I had our twins in April.

8 Months out of the year we were living under someone else's roof.

We sold our house and was able to pay off our vehicles and all of our credit cards.

We bought our house and 'moved into the country.... gonna eat a lot of peaches.'

Jessica started middle school which is really more like high school since there's no real way of seperating the two when they're all in one building.

Jessica made the volleyball team and the basketball team.

Darcy began talking... i mean really talking!

Matthew changed companies after 5 years.

I welcome 2007 and all the changes it will bring!

Last night I sat down with my family and few close friends and we wrote out our 2007 resolutions and shared them with each other. We're supposed to keep the list in our drawer and pull it out next new year's eve and see what we accomplised. Some of the things I listed, but not all, were things like:

Lose 50lbs by June 1st.

Study the Bible by myself and with my husband.

Spend more time playing with my children.

Learn to control my tongue/temper.

Those are just a few but it was neat hearing everyone elses.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!
