One for the books!

Jeremiah and Darcy came down the stairs in bathing suits.... Darcy dressed Jeremiah

From Bad to Worse!

HA! Jacob woke up this morning around 8. He was saying something about water in his mouth. My boys have never thrown up... not that I can remember anyways. Well he did this morning. He had a low grade fever. He woke up with a dry diaper. 4 sippy cups later around 10:30 he finally peed! It was dark! I've been given him grape/cranberry juice... they drink cranberry juice regularly anyways. He didn't eat much at lunch time. I put them down for a nap and like a lot of days lately they never really went to sleep. They played quietly and finally let me know they were ready to come out. Jacob's shirt was wet and I could see something on his legs but wasn't sure. He had diarrhea. I took him straight to the tub. It was nasty! I sent Jeremiah down stairs for Jessica to change him... I didn't realize he too had a diarrhea diaper. They both ended up in the tub. There's poo stains in their floor... did I mention we just shampooed their carpet LAST weekend! Its a good think I own a Kirby!

Jessica's still sicky. She hasn't thrown up since Friday morning. She's run a fever off and on. She's very weak and has slept a lot.

Darcy seems fine but I'm sure it will spread... it always does.

Matthew's at work today.

What a day!8

I knew today was going to be hectic b/c I knew what I had to do in a short time. There's not a lot I could have done during the day or else I would have had to redo it... ie clean :) I couldn't prepare some of the food b/c well I just couldn't!

Jessica came home sick around 8:45am throwing up. Matthew got stuck in traffic and didn't make it home till almost 5:30. The weather was going crazy and I was stressin!

The last time I hosted a party for Christa (back during the summer) we had a leftover hurricane come through that same day! I think I'm cursed! LOL

I'm not expecting many tonight b/c a few has already canceled due to the weather.

On a positive note... my house is clean, the kids are gone and I have tons of good food!!! LOL

My Test

I've been studying for my test for days. I was hoping to beat my last test score (90). I had typed out my own study guide based off of his study guide. I figured by typing it out it would be one more way that I'd be putting it in my brain. Long story short.... the test wasn't what I prepared for! I will be shocked if I make anything better than a "C" seriously! I was sick to my stomach throughout the test. It wasn't stuff that was on our handouts at all. I was the first one to finish. It wasn't long until I got into my car that some of my classmates started calling me asking me what I thought... I'm pretty sure everyone did really bad.

I wasn't one of the 3 chosen to present out papers... actually I didn't volunteer :) I will next week but I didn't want to be one of the first ones. I wanted to get a feel for what others did before I did mine. And apparently he's not being to critical on them b/c he graded the papers while the person was presenting them. The paper is worth 20% of our grade and the presentation is worth another 20%. One of the guys got 20% on his paper and 19% on his presentation... he read his paper... not good!

Well I've got to do some last minute stuff today to get ready for tonight. 'm really looking forward to hanging out with everyone. Please don't let the weather keep you from coming b/c I'll have a lot of food to eat :)

Tired and Frustrated

I've got a test tonight and a presentation on my paper to give also. I've got a Girls Night Out scheduled tomorrow night that I'm trying to prepare for but I'm frustrated b/c I don't know who's coming and who's not. I'm going to buy food after class tonight. I really didn't attend for it to be such a hassle but I guess its going to be. I really just wanted to invite a bunch of ladies that I knew needed a night out and some that I haven't seen in a while.

my boys are fighting taking a nap and I really need to study... and somehow fit time in to clean. My head hurts. I'm tired and my body is sore... which that part I don't really mind since its cause I worked out :)

I just got a call from a guy from school... he had some questions about the paper thats due tonight... he's just now starting it! So I guess things could be worse. But I made a promise to myself that I would give school 100%... like I tell the kids in class.... I'm here b/c I wanna be here not b/c my parents are making me go to college! I've got something to prove to myself and I'm going to succeed!

The last paragraph is already lifting my spirits up... better go study while the boys seem quiet! I'll be leaving early for school tonight! LOL

Reminiscing

I had to look the spelling up in the dictionary! LOL

Okay so the other night while laying in bed Matthew and I were talking.... its almost the only place we actually get peace and quiet to talk. Although sometimes we have a 4 year old in the middle of us! LOL Anyways back to story.... we were talking about all sorts of things that brought back special warm and fuzzy feelings. We started talking about the places we lived.

My first apartment... it was very cute and cozy. I miss it. I remember when it was just me, matthew and jessica hanging out there. We would watch the same movie over and over with Jessica while laying in her bed. I used to scrub out his lunchbox every night and make his lunches for him (don't really have time for that now but I want to start doing it on occassion). We had this really smart covered back deck that we used to eat on all the time. We had our first Christmas here... just me and Jessica. We made ornaments and it was really special. It was in this apartment that I realized I was going to marry him. It was the way he treated my daughter that made me realize this.

The double mint... it was a trailor I rented that was 2 shades of green. I moved here after Matthew proposed so that we could save money. Matthew officially moved in when I lived here. He had his own bedroom. It was more b/c I was working odd hours and needed someone to help with Jessica. I planned my wedding while living here.

Our first house... I didn't realized how much I loved this house until we moved out. It just wasn't big enough for four kids so we had to move. I miss the shower in the master bath. I miss my rock fireplace. Darcy's nursery was very sweet and cozy. I remember spending lots of time in her nursery getting ready for her. I would stay up for hours in her room just playing with all the stuff. We did a lot of entertaining at this house. The night before my wedding I slept in this house :) We brought Darcy home to this house.

Our home now... I'll have to be honest I would have never have thought I'd be in Jemison. But I love my small town. Everyone says I'm so far away from everything but really I'm not. Everything I need is within minutes. The only thing thats far is my family and 25 minutes isn't far in my book! This is where my kids will grow up... in this house. There are a lot of memories to be made here with my family.

Why should I feel guilty?

Do you ever have those conversations where you feel guilty b/c of something you have that the other person doesn't have? It can be anything but for me its always the same thing... my wonderful husband!

I hear women complain about their husbands and the things they do or don't do. When they ask me if my hubby is the same way I tell them about my wonderful hubby.

Yesterday I was in the hot tub at the gym and some lady made a comment about me going home after school and having to give the kids baths and get everyone ready for the next day and for bed. Well I was honest and told her that my hubby does the nighttime routine. He does by choice and no other reason. Its his time to bond with them. He baths them, dresses them, prays and reads to them. Its his night time thing. There was another girl in the hot tub that said her hubby doesn't do anything and she went on and on. I left the hot tub feeling guilty and this happens to me a lot. Do you know what I mean?

I have an amazing husband. I don't deserve him but God felt I did. I'm blessed and I know this.

Yes there are times when he doesn't live up to my expections and there's more times when I don't live up to his... i'm sure of! LOL We do things that get on each others nerves... we're not perfect. But I love my husband and I feel like I got the best husband ever!

The Baby is here!!

Tiffany had her baby this morning!! I let her tell you all the details... but he's here!!! He wasn't supposed to be here until March 8th but all her babies like to come early! She told me his name but since hasn't posted about their choice for a name I'll let her tell you that too! But all is well and everyone is doing fine!

Mr. Daddy

The boys have this new thing where they say Mr infront of Daddy and other family members including Mr Momma. Not sure where they got it from but its really cute with they say Mr. Daddy!!

Also Darcy says "Daddy Brock" when she wants Matthew's attention!!

Darcy Bug

I don't know if anyone elses child does this or not but Darcy goes through stages where she'll hang on to something 24/7.... ie bouncy ball or some sort of toy. She'll even sleep with it!!! For the last 2 weeks its been this little neon green bouncy ball. Let me tell you... Have you ever heard of the Princess and the Pea? LOL I don't know how many times I'd pull that thing out from under me in the middle of the night! I told you in my previous post about her going to South Alabama. Well she brought back a BUGEL!! Yes, she can blow it! I had to draw the line last night when she had that thing in the bed with us! She allowed me to put it on the nightstand but you better believe it when I say thats the first thing she asked about this morning when she woke up!

She's a nut!

Lazy Sunday

I just woke up from a nap... love sunday afternoon naps. They're the best! Matthew played the guitar this morning in church.... He did a great job. We came home and ate leftovers.

Last night we watched PS I love you... if you haven't seen this movie you NEED to watch it. It was great!!! I cried throughout the entire movie! The funny thing is... I didn't even want to watch it. I was tired and wasn't sure if I'd make it through the movie. I did and let me just say that this movie really got to me. I was sobbing. This movie is about one of my biggest fears. Go watch it!

My weekend so far

Darcy went with Matthew's Dad and grandmother to south Alabama. She left last night and will be home Sunday sometime. Jessica didn't want to go. Its been kinda quiet without here. Different. I miss her :)

Matthew and I chased a mouse last night... oh what fun. We sat up traps before going to bed... so far nothing :( I really thought I'd have a mouse in every trap... or atleast get one! But nothing... nada thing!

I went to bed fairly early last night... Matthew had just drank a pot of coffee so he wasn't ready to go to bed. I was really looking forward to a darcy free bed for an entire night. It was nice! I thought I was going to sleep in but that didn't happen. I was up by 8:15am... which to some people that is sleeping in. But I would have liked to have slept until 9 or even 10am!!! whoa!

So far today Matthew has fixed the fridge, rigged the light and together we've been raking the yard. I'm on a break right now :) I've also made a quick run to the dollar store. Its my shopping fix.

Tonight we plan on grilling chicken and just relaxing with the family.

Tomorrow Matthew plays in the Praise & Worship band at church... first time.

Girls Night Out/Purse Party is Friday... are you coming???? Let me know!

new toy

I put the little tracker on here and I keep coming by to see who's all on here. I don't know who most of them are... so if you're reading would you mind telling me??? curious thats all :)

School Update

Its been a while since I've updated about school... so just incase you were dying to know... things are still great. I really enjoy my psychology class. I heard mixed reviews about this class and wasn't sure how I'd do but so far so good. I made a 90 on my last test. My paper is due Thursday and we also have a test that day too! I'll be fine! I talk a lot in both classes... my psychology teacher welcomes the interaction... my english teacher is funny... very old. she always ask us questions about what we think of the stories. So far there hasn't been too many that I like... one night she asked us a question and I answered it. She turned to the other side of the room and said quietly... "I guess she didn't like this story either." It was all I could do not to bust out laughing. We have shorts essay paragraphs each week to write in her class... so far I've done pretty good. I expect A's in both classes!

Today!

Today is a very special day. Its my wonderful husbands birthday!!! He's 29 years young today!! I love him so very much! I wish that I had something big planned for him but I don't. I have class tonight so I'll only see him for about 10 minutes when he gets home :) Maybe we can do something special this weekend... just the two of us would be nice :) We'll see.

Remember yesterdays story???

Well last night I called Matthew on my way home from class. I asked him how everyone was and he said fine but it had been a crazy night. He said that the water line into the fridge has busted and about flooded the kitchen! I immediately said the mouse chewed it.... I knew that had to be what happened. NOPE... when I violently shook the fridge the copper pipe thingy got pinched and when he moved the fridge back last night it snapped. I felt really stupid! He wasn't mad (he rarely gets mad) but I knew he was tired. He'd also tried to change the lightbulbs in the living room but turns out the fixture is broken and now he needs to take it apart to fix it... we just got the stupid thing not even a year ago!

I'm so tired of this crap!

seriously this HS drama stuff is making me crazy!!! So the story I'm getting from Jessica is there's a small group of girls 2 sometimes 3 that don't like her... One of them has had a crush on her bf for a while now. They talk about her and try to spread rumors. They go through her locker, hide her things and write on her stuff. They've stolen her pictures in her locker of her and her BF. They've hidden her purse. I could go on and on but you get the picture. I'm trying to give her good motherly advice but what I really want to do is just lay into those girls... or tell Jessica too! LOL Nothing else has seemed to work.

Jessica tells me all this crap but then makes me promise to not do anything... so I'll just vent here :)

Good Sport

Luckily for me my FIL is a good sport. You see... I probably call him every day and sometimes several times a day depending on what sort of drama is happening. I've called him from anything to clogged toilets, kids playing in poo to roaming rats in the house! He's easier to get in touch with than my hubby :) And no body gets on to him for taking personal calls... at least not to my knowledge!

He mostly laughs at me when I call him... like he did today. I'm admitting this... are you ready... we have field mice! Yes, I know... nasty little creatures. But before you go thinking my house is nasty... its not! I swept my floors daily and we don't leave food laying out but for some reason the field mice like to hang out around here!

Today I'm sitting here minding my own business watching FOX when out of the corner of my eye I see a mouse run behind the fridge. I didn't scream b/c the kids are napping. I calmly grabbed the cat and the broom. I threw the cat down beside the fridge, jumped in the chair with broom in hand and began violently shaking the fridge!! LOL Nothing... the cat went and laid on the couch and the mouse didn't show. I went back to the couch... curled myself up in a ball and watched the fridge. All the sudden I hear the mouse flopping around. Yeah, flopping... like maybe I'd hurt it or pinched its tail or something. So I repeated the above, grab cat, broom, stand in chair, shake violently - NOTHING!

Now I'm sitting here on the couch and I don't hear a thing.

Of course somewhere in the midst of the chaos I placed 3 calls... Matthew... he quickly let me go... something about being X amount of feet in the air. Then My dad... he laughed and said call the exterminator... when I said I'm talking to him he laughed again and said sorry kid can't help ya! Desperate for someone to tell give me some pitty I called my FIL. I filled him in on whats happened and he begins laughing. I ask him all sorts of questions that the responses I wanted would have calmed my nerves a little bit but don't expect him to give em to me! I asked him if he thought we had a few or LOTS of field mice... he said could be millions! LOL We came up with a solution... we're going to place sticky traps all over the house one night and catch all the mouse!! It doesn't help me with my current problem... the mouse behind the fridge!

So thats my story for today! Now don't forget to read the post below to find out the details on my purse party :)

READY TO SCREAM!!!

I HATE COMPUTERS!!! I KNOW HOW TO TURN ON MY COMPUTER AND HOW TO GET AROUND ON THE INTERNET... ALL THE OTHER TECHNICAL STUFF IS TOO DIFFICULT FOR ME!!

okay i'll stop screaming now. sorry. I'm having a break down. I'm sitting here trying to write my paper on the laptop that was gifted to me. The computer keeps cutting off on me with no sign!!! And then it takes a while before I can get it to come back on!!! I have a real computer in my office but its hard to lock myself in there with little ones roaming free. At least with the laptop I can sit in the same room with them and work as I can. I've lost some parts of my paper... I hit SAVE a lot but still I've lost some stuff. And my frustration level is through the ROOF! I'm wasted a lot of time today waiting for the computer to power back up. I'm tense.
On top of all that... Jessica's computer goofs up on her today. A virus checker thingy searched and found SEVERAL trojans and other junk and when asked to Run or Save either thing you pushed just went into a full circle over and over again. I blew up at Jessica accusing her of downloading junk she shouldn't... which I apologized later. I'm just overwhelmed and the paper drama didn't help with her computer issues.
My paper is due the 26th so I still have time... I want to get it done and out of my way!!!

A God Moment

I'm only sharing this b/c I want people to get the point about obeying God not for a pat on the back.

Our Coach's wife owns a florist. She was at the game last night supporting her hubby. After the game I went and picked up a pizza and drove by the florist. I saw them inside working... Valentines is a BUSY day to say the least!

A little while later I was at home. I'd eaten and was about to go to bed when I felt God telling me to go to the florist. Of course I was thinking they'd think I was silly for showing up at nearly 10 o'clock... and I don't really know her that well. But I obeyed. I got there and told them God sent me. She, her hubby and her mother and sister were the only ones there. I did whatever they asked me to do and at 2:30am we finally wrapped things up. It felt good to be used by God.

WHAT A GAME!!

You've heard the ole saying... pictures are worth 1000 words... well let me tell you... this picture says it all!!! Here's the story... We're in overtime. We're winning 53 - 49. The other team is playing with 4 players b/c they've all fouled out. 2 seconds left in the game and Matt (jessica's bf) is going up for a lay up. The boy behind him body checks him like in hockey in mid air!!! He went flying threw the air and smacked the gym wall. Our bench clears... people in the stands are going crazy... our coach is going crazy! It was chaos! We were demanding the other kid be ejected... he was. They got a tech and we got a tech (for clearing the bench) and we won the game. It was intense to say the least!!! We're going to state!

Jessica's team didn't win... they're done for the season.

skipping school

yep... thats me! i'm skipping school tonight to watch my daughter play in the substate tournament! I am so proud of her. She has come a long way this year. She went from sitting on the bench on her junior high team at another school to starting point guard on the varsity team at her new school. She has done a terrific job and has had to endure a lot of pressure.

thats all for now... we're taking the whole family tonight so we can all watch Jessica play! Gotta start getting ready now! LOL

Monday, February 09, 2009

Oh Me Oh My

Are you sitting down??

My daughter, 13 years old and in the 8th grade, got asked to the Jr/Sr Banquet by a SENIOR! FREAK! Of course we said no way... well actually I said he'd have a better chance asking ME to go than my daughter!!! LOL

Wiped Out!

I got a call this morning around 9:30ish. The 2 year old daycare teacher had a funeral to go to and they needed someone to sub. I got myself and the boys both dressed and ready and was there by 10am!!! I walked in the room and told the lady I was there to help her. She informed me that she was the one leaving and that there was only ONE person in that room! WHAT??? LOL I took a deep breath and said alrighty then! The kids in that room are mostly 2yrs old but there's a few that are staff kids. So I had 8 kids (including my boys). One baby that was maybe 4 months old! I don't see how she does it! I was sweating within 30 minutes of being there! It was definitely a chore and I have a new respect for ALL daycare/preschool teachers. If I could give her a million dollars I would! I was there until nearly 3 o'clock. I made it through lunch, nap and play time!

Dedicated to Stackie

breaking my heart!

Last week I stayed home from church with Jacob b/c he was sicky... This week I'm here with Jeremiah. He's heartbroken. He kept bringing Matthew his clothes this morning trying to make him dress him for church. He banged on the door when they left... I distracted him for a moment with a bowl of icecream but he's done now and back to looking out the window and crying for his daddy. Its so sweet and sad. I turned on Dora so now he's quite... but it only last for a little while and then its like he remembers it all over again.

Jessica's Game

She played a really good game last night. She scored and made some major game changing plays. She hurt her wrist but its okay today. She fouled out :) Jessica made the basket that sent them into overtime and they won by 4pts... it was a really WILD game! The V Boys won too. The girls are 1 place in their area right now and the post season games start this week. I'll be skipping school to watch my daughter :)

TGIF

Too bad that means nothing to me today. My hubby worked late Monday and Wednesday night... I went to school Tuesday and Thursday... I'm going to Jessica's last game tonight and he's working tomorrow! So no hubby time this week! But I'm grateful for the overtime and I'm grateful that I'm in school.

Darcy hasn't gotten notes home back to back this week. Wednesday and Thursday she brought notes home from her teacher. Wednesday she was hopping like a frog during nap time. Yesterday she poured her juice box out all over her lunchable and made mush with her food. This is the FIRST time all year that her teacher has said anything negative about her behavior. In fact, she's always telling me what an angel she is at school. LOL

We're (with the help of grandparents) are sending Jessica to a HUGE basketball camp this summer in Atlanta. Its a major investment but one that will pay off big time. Its a week long intense camp thats backed by ESPN. She really loves basketball... maybe one day she'll have a scholarship somewhere! Who knows! Shoot for the stars!

The story we read in English this week was a little weird. It was called The Bridegroom. The story takes place in China and its about a good looking man marrying a not so desirable woman. They had made a pack... he was homosexual and needed a cover and she needed a husband and a home. He ends up getting busted at a 'mens club' that was raided. He went to a mental hospital for treatment but in then end homosexuality isn't a disease its a sexual preference. Anyways the story had some things I could have done without!

Psychology was alright. We're talking about drugs and the effects. Is it effects or affects??? I think its effects... who knows! lol Anyways you could definitely tell who the pot heads were by the way they argued about legallizing pot! hahaha

My boys have been very aggressive towards each other lately. Jacob is very quick to haul off and hit someone. Jeremiah likes to head butt! They're both very sweet to each other most of the time but man they can turn on each other very quickly! I need to do more stuff with them instead of letting them play freely. I think they get bored... I know they get bored.

Tomorrow the weather is going to be nice. I've gotta think of something fun to do with the kids. I'd take them to the zoo but I'm afraid to do that by myself. We have season passes... they expire at the end of May (i think).

OMG!!!

My daughter, DARCY, just came down the stairs holding a DEAD RAT (field mouse - whatever) She said it was sleeping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a little story to back it up!
Matthew calls me at lunch time to ask me if I heard the commotion this morning. He tells me this long story about chasing the mouse around the house... the cat catching it... the mouse getting away... the cat catching the mouse again... Matthew late for work had to leave! Well his four year old daughter just brought the &*#^% thing downstairs!!!!!!!!

Yes I made her wash her hands a bezillion times and scrubbed them to death!

Survivor

Its almost time for SURVIVOR!! Feb 12th is NEXT THURSDAY! This season there's a cattle rancher from GOOD OLE ALABAMA! I can't wait... although I'm in class on Thursday.... looks like I'll be tvo'ing them and watching them on Friday nights with the family... so don't ruin it for me! lol

You need to check out the Recipe Blog b/c we've added new stuff!

Thats Daddy's!!

I was making myself some hot chocolate. I grabbed a coffee cup and Jeremiah started fussing at me "dats daddy's!" over and over again. I guess all the coffee cups are daddy's since I don't drink coffee! LOL

Burr

Its freezing!!! I'm sooo cold. I can't get warm! My hardwood floors are very cold :( I have the blinds open so the sun is hitting the floors... its helping some but its cold! The wind was blowing like crazy last night when I got home. My wind chimes never stopped singing! Its supposed to be cold until Friday... then it will be in the 60's... crazy! I'm really missin my fireplace right now.

I can't imagine all those people without power in Kentucky... thats horrible. People are seriously freezing to death!

Things I wanna Remember from this weekend

Jeremiah putting the kitty in the time out chair.
Jacob laughing.
The boys 'talking' to each other about what they're gonna do.
Matthew chasing the boys around the house.
Jeremiah growling at the cat.
Matthew playing cars with the boys.
Our first trip to Target with the boys.
Me hanging out with Jacob while everyone else goes to church.

My parents had the girls Friday night and most of the day and evening on Saturday. So it was just us with the boys. It was fun.

The girls went shopping with my mom and then to the boat show with my dad. Darcy got to go fishing in the fish pond set up at the boat show. Oh... my mom had promised Darcy she could pick out something at the store. She'd pick up something and carry it around for a while then trade it out for something else. Finally she picked up a tool set. My mom said "Darcy are you sure thats what you want?" and she said "Yes, so I can help my daddy work on things." cute cute cute!

Jessica finishes up her basketball season this week... but depending on how well they do they might end up in the playoffs. I'll keep you updated.

Jacob has been coughing and sneezing all morning. He really wanted to go to church this morning. He was very sad when everyone else left. But we've been snuggling on the couch.
