great news

chris heard from his family... they're safe!!!

i've been told by 2 different sources that we all need to fill up our vehicles b/c after the gas stations run out they will not be refilling for some time. On my way home from the bank i was noticing the prices... walmart had unleaded for $2.44... BP was already up to $2.77 for unleaded!!!! crazy!

Up here in Chicago we have been close to $3.00 for unleaded for about the last 3 weeks. Premium is about $3.15. Bush is supposed to release oil from the federal reserve to the affected refineries so that they can still produce gasoline.

We filled up tonight, it was $2.99/gallon. Cost over $45! It used to be $20 something. We were told that prices were going up to $4/gal tonight at midnight. We'll see if the rumors are true!

He already did released some. And is supposed to be releasing more. The problems is that the refineries are down, no refining, no gas.

I filled up on my way to the boyfriends last night. I only needed 6 gallons, but I figured - tank up. It was 3.09 at 8:45 pm. This morning on my way to work - the same station was 3.69. A .60 increase in just over 8 hours!!!

I've got to fill up at lunch today. I wish they would allow drillers to drill in Alaska. Then we wouldn't be dependent on overseas supplies.
