i've been told by 2 different sources that we all need to fill up our vehicles b/c after the gas stations run out they will not be refilling for some time. On my way home from the bank i was noticing the prices... walmart had unleaded for $2.44... BP was already up to $2.77 for unleaded!!!! crazy!

frustration
i've been watching the reports coming out of the gulf coast... my heart really goes out to all the families. I watched an interview of the man telling of how he had to let go of his wife in order to save his grandchildren... so sad. jessica watched a lot of the news coverage with me. she asked a lot of questions. i was pretty honest with her. she asked where those people were going and where would they sleep... i said wherever they could find a place. she was in total disbelief. we also watched the looters... i became very angry watching these 'people' take things like clothes, tv's, stereo's and shoes... it would be different if they were desperate for food, water or supplies... its pitiful! one officier has been shot b/c he surprised a looter. thats such a shame.

We spoke them into existence
Sunday afternoon we went by Matt's parents house to visit. We were joking with his parents about having twins... grandmaw speaks up and says well my great aunts both had twins... be didn't think anything of it.
Monday morning we went to the doctor. I was kinding with Tamara (i did MC's with this chic) about us having twins while I was signing in. When the doctor came into the room I made a joke about having 2 lima beans in my tummy. I even said "say a prayer we want two!" Well as I was laying there having the vaginal ultrasound done (sorry for the mental picture)... he was taking a really long time... I wasn't at all worried but Matthew later said he was worrying that something might be wrong... the whole time I was joking about having twins! I asked him "hey is there 2 of them???" he said "why do you ask?" I just laughed and said it would be fun! Well he turned the screen around and said "there's one and there's the other" I didn't believe him... i was like not uh! I just started laughing... Matt turned white as a ghost! He was in shock! Neither of us could believe it... we just sat there and i was laughing.
We are both very happy. Its a miracle that someone has twins without having a little help. We're not sure where we're going to put everyone but we're really excited. Jessica was very excited when we told her... she started jumping on the couch.
We have to go back next week for another ultrasound... not a vaginal one but a real one... the doctor also said that i wasn't as far along as i thought i was... i'm not sure how... b/c i know i was on my period during the 4th of july... but he says i'm only about 7 weeks. I'm not sure my due date... anything he said after telling me there was two is all mumble jumble. I do know that they are in two seperate sacks so they'll be fraternal.

Well I went today for my first doctor's appt. This is the one where they do a vaginal ultrasound... we got to see them on the screen.... yes i said them... there's TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll tell you the story later... but right now its storming so i'd better get off the computer :)

Play by Play
here's the recap of my weekend.
Friday night.... Matt and Jason played at the Annex in Calera. They played for 2 hours... they were great! I was soooo proud of my talented husband. Saturday Matt had to work but me and the girls went with my parents to a family function at Lake Mitchell... it was sooo stinkin hot! Saturday night Jonathan came over and ate with us. We ended up watching Cold Mountain. Jessica spent the night with my parents. This morning we were supposed to go to church but I hurt my back yesterday and had to unplug my alarm clock to plug in the heating pad... well matt turned his off this morning when it went off... I guess he needed the sleep... he doesn't even remember doing it. We ended up waken up around 9:30am.... church starts at 10am... we didn't make it. We decided to take the girls to Oak Mtn.... that was a trip! We hiked to Pevine Falls... um... hello... fat girl didn't do so hot!!!! And it wasn't just my weight.... i was feeling a little icky and thought... oh no... I cannot pass out here!!!!! We manage to make it back to the car. We grabbed a bite to eat and headed to his parents house to visit. We just made it back home!
Several prayer request.... Please be praying for Michael... he's got 3 more days left of his special forces junk... but he's got a really bad infection in his feet and can't hardly walk. He's really frustrated. Please just pray that he can find the strength to finish and that this infection would disappear!!!!!!!!!!! Also be praying for Heather... its frustrating to hurt to see her husband this way and she's not able to do anything. You'd think that these last 3 days would be easy but its going to be the hardest. He's got a 6 mile rutt tomorrow... thats where they have to carry all their junk and hike.
next prayer request... if you read crystal's blog you've already saw the request... but please pray for Staci's inlaws... they live in Gulf Port, MS... and prayer for my family who live on the other side of dauphin island.
last but not least... pray for Jonathan... he's really putting forth an effort but he needs our prayers of strength and encouragment. He's been coming to church and to the CR meetings. He's held his self accountable to Matt and myself.
Oh wait... one more... pray for my hubby!!!!!! he's working like a dawg! And its soooo stinkin hot outside... i mean by the time I make it back from the mail box I'm ready to take a cold shower!!! Can you imagine being out in that heat all day... he's not even really outside... he's inside a big building that gets hotter than an oven!
okay... thats all for now... i'll try and post some pics from Oak Mtn. I finally bought some more batteries.

God moved tonight at Celebrate Recovery... it was awesome. I'm just so thankful he thought i was good enough to use for his work.

Darcy had a Dr's appt this morning. She had her finger pricked and a shot in each leg. She was not a happy camper! In the waiting room they were showing The Wizard of Oz... love that movie... but i wondered what the other parents thought about them showing it... it can be kinda spooky.
Tomorrow night at the Annex in Calera (7pm) Matt and Jason are playing. Its free so if you can please come out and support them. Its a community night out put on by our church. The annex is just over the RR tracks on Hwy 31 on the left. There's parking on the street and in the back.
Matt's friend, Jonathan, just called me. Matt's boss hired him right away without even interview him. He told Jonathan something like... matt's my best worker and if he said to give you a chance i'll give you a chance. He was soooo thrilled to actually have a job with insurance! Matt was upfront with his boss and told him he didn't know if it would work out but he'd appreciate him giving him a chance.... thats soooo awesome! Jonathan has been going to church and to CR. We're hoping to see a real change this time. Please be praying.
This morning while I was getting ready I had darcy in her saucer outside of my bathroom. Well I gotta little sick and had to visit the porclein god.... (i know i can't spell).... darcy was clapping while i was puking!!!!!!!!!! I guess I should be glad it didn't scare her... i'm not a quiet barfer :)

i couldn't think of a witty title sorry
so far we've had good reactions to the whole pregnant thing. most questions have been... did you mean to??? and to answer that... matthew and i want our kids to be close in age so they can grow up and play together... we had already said we were going to start trying again in Sept... we just weren't trying not to get pregnant now. the next question is how can you afford it... well if we waited till we could afford it then it would never happen. we are making the preperations now to get our finances under control... and frankly its not their problem. we will do everything it takes to provide for our family... if that means finding a new place to live or selling our most precious items... we'll do it... b/c family means more to us! can you tell i'm a little fired up!?!
well i go to the doctor next monday at 2pm.... i'm pretty sure i'm 8 weeks. i'm going back to dr. hotpants... aka Adcock. my family is a little worried about all the heart problems i had with Darcy... they'll be back this time around... i've gotta make a dr. appt with my heart doctor too.

Guess Who is Pregnant?
ME!!!
I'm not kidding either! We just found out yesterday... well we took a test yesterday but I've known something was up. My body has been trying to tell me... I started getting sick... then I was changing darcy the other day (poopie) and i was about to barf all over the kid! not to mention i've had some cravings. According to the due date calendar on babiesonline.com it looks like this one will be popping out around the middle of April.

Baby Shower
We're having Tina Howard's baby shower this Sunday at 2pm. Its going to be in the fellowship hall at the church.

Christmas
I've been visiting with Kelly and Will most of the morning. Kelly is Tommy Staggs' wife and Will is their adorable son. It was nice to have some company. We started talking about the hassel of holidays. Here's my complaint.
1. I barely have enough money to buy for my immediate family... I'd rather not buy for anyone else... drawing names doesn't help b/c there are 4 of us to draw for! Not to mention its a pain to try and figure out what someone else wants.
2. I have my own family now... I'd like to start my own family traditions. If you want to see my family on Christmas then you can pack up and come on over! Christmas eve and Christmas Day is spent on the go... not relaxing at ALL! My kids are young... I do not want to make them hurry up on Christmas morning so that we can make our rounds. COME TO US!
My suggestion are..... Christmas morning I'm going to make breakfast for my immediate family. Then at lunch time everyone that wants too can bring over a dish and we can have lunch.
Christmas Eve I'm going to spend with my family! If we feel like going to his grandmothers house then we'll go! But i'm not drawing names anymore!!!!!!!!!! I'd rather spend christmas eve watching all those old christmas movies. And after the kids are in bed I would like to exchange presents with my husband.... its hard to have 'our' moment christmas morning when we're too busy being excited about the kids.

just a walk
i just walked around the neighborhood... the last part I was starting to get tired. I'm hoping we can make this a nightly routine... but so far we've only done it twice since last monday.
thanks for all of you that are praying for Jonathan. I've spoken with him several times today. He is waiting for a place in rehab until then he'll be attending some other meetings.

Prayer Request
Okay... some of you may know this person but I'm asking everyone to be praying.
Matt's old friend, Jonathan Nelson, has resurfaced in our lives. He's been out of prison for a year now (more or less). For the first time in his life he wants help (his words not mine). He has a serious drug problem. I've made some phone calls this morning and we're looking at getting him into a 90 day rehab. Please pray for him. He seems to be really sincere this time about getting his life right. Matt and I have been praying for him for a really long time. He called us back in June and said he was going to be in town at the end of July and he'd like to see us. We never heard from him. Then on Saturday he called matt. He's here in Helena living with his girlfriend. He left everything in NC and is ready to start over. I told him about the meetings I'm involved in and he says he'll go. Please keep him and us in your prayers as we go through this together. Matt really wants to see Jonathan turn everything around.

Lane Bryant
Okay... Saturday morning I went to the mall with my mom, sister and jessica. We were on a mission. The first store we went into was Lane Bryant. Now most of you know that this is the ONLY store in the mall that carries nice big girl clothes. I had a arm full of things and my sister had some stuff for me as well. We were finally ready to try on. I went the the back dresssing room and asked if they'd unlock a room for me. The girl said the ones in the front were the only ones opened. So I walked to the other side and there was a line!!!!!!!!! I asked the lady at the door if they could open the other ones and she said no. I told her I didn't understand why they would make us wait for a dressing room when there's a whole nother section. She said sorry... you can talk to my manager if you have a problem... I was nice up until this point! I found the manager and asked if she could open up the other rooms and she said well let me see whats going on over here. She walked back to the front dressing rooms while we followed her. She said there's a room for you here and walked off. But there was no empty room. So the same girl that had just told me to wait was now talking to another lady about people need to wait. Well I went back to the manager and said there is a line. At this point my mom asked the manager to open the other side but she refused so we just dropped everything ontop of one the tables and walked out. She really screwed up my morning... I was on the verge of calling matthew to come and pick me up but my mom and sister talked me out of it.

Recap of my weekend
Friday night I went out to eat with my family for my b'day dinner. It was... me, matt, darcy, my mom & dad, matt's mom, grandmother and sister, my sister, her husband, his mother and zachery. We ate at Taste of Thailand in Hoover... best sushi in town ;) Jessica had gone to spend the night with a friend. After the movie Matt & I came home and watched Hostage on PPV.
Saturday morning I went shopping with my mom, sister and jessica while Matt kept darcy and did some cleaning.
Saturday afternoon my mom kept the girls while matt and I had some alone time... he did such an awesome job on the house. We ate at Zaxby's.
Saturday night jessica stayed with my mom. darcy was out for night around 7:30. Matt and I watched the pacifier. Afterwards I opened my gifts from him... he had bought lots of things to create a spa like atmosphere in our bedroom. We took a shower and then I was pampered for over an hour. It was the best birthday present ever!
I got lots of money to go shopping with and found some really good things at JC Penny's. I had a bad experience at Lane Bryant and ended up leaving a pile of clothes on their folding table.

Michael and Heather
I thought I'd update you since she's not able to blog.
He graduated last Friday from Airborne and went straight to Ft. Bragg, NC. She's been staying in a extended living hotel. She has been able to see him for a few hours each night. They finally found an apartment. They're going to be driving down here to get their stuff this weekend. But they will have turn right back around b/c he has to be back Sunday night.
OH.... her birthday is Tomorrow... the 12th. She's turning the big 20.

Crystal and I are going to Target!!!!! We both just need to get out of the house and we love Target! I'm going to be looking for ideas for Christmas.

The lady that asked me to move my purse at the doctor's office... her kids to kingwood... she was walking on the cross walk right in front of me today!!! ahhahahahahahahahahahaha
Jessica's First Day of 5th Grade
Monday was Jessica's first day of 5th grade. Her teacher is new. His name is Nick Quinn. He was born and raised in Alaska. This is his first year to teach. He's in his early 30's and has 2 kids. She seems to like him so far.
Monday night we started something new. During supper we played connect four and after supper we all went for a walk. We are trying to do more things all together. Since we moved into this house 2 years ago Jessica has been talking about walking to school. Well we finally decided to let her. BEFORE any of you start to critize me... just stop and think would you like others to judge your parenting abilities? We talked to her all safety and what to do in different situations. She was really excited. So yesterday morning she walked to school. Now keep in mind that its just straight down the street and left into the lower parking lot. AND they have a security officer that directs traffic into the lower parking lot. It only takes her a little over 5 minutes to get there.
Before she left yesterday she wanted to call my mom to let her know of her new adventure... she couldn't get in touch with her so she asked me to keep trying. Finally I did and lets just say my mother was NOT excited. Infact we exchanged words and didn't speak the rest of the day. But later she apologized so now everything is okay... atleast until the next time she feels the need to tell me I'm doing something wrong regarding MY children.
Oh... one more thing. A couple of years ago (i think jessica was 5) she decided she wanted to try cheerleading. We signed up for peewee at Thompson... BIG MISTAKE! It was a horrible experience. The other mothers were the biggest problem... they reminded me of the lifetime movie 'The Texas Cheerleading Story'... it was really bad. Yesterday Jessica came home and informed me that she wanted to cheer for kingwoods peewee. I talked with the sponsor... apparently you signed up last school year but she's going to see if she can find her a uniform... if so then she's good to go. Please pray for us! She'll have practice 2x a week and games are on Tuesday nights. She also wants to play volleyball and at the end of this year she can try out for the 6th & 7th grade team. I'd much rather her do something like that than cheer :)

Sunday night...
Darcy was up all night long!!!!! She screamed her head off! At first it scared me b/c it was one of those screams like something was hurting her... I undressed her thinking maybe something had bitten her... but found nothing. It was just her teeth! I tried everything to get her to calm down. I was worried she'd wake up everyone in the house. Matt came in there at some point and tried to help but was of no use. I gave tylenol to ease the pain and hoping it would knock her out :) she wouldn't take a bottle or anything! Eventually I made myself a pallet in the floor and laid down with her. I woke up some time later and moved her to her crib and went back to my bed. She woke up again!!!!!!! By the time it was time for me to get up and get Jessica ready for school I was a zombie! I made jessica blueberry muffins. I asked my mom to come by and stay with Darcy while i ran jessica to school. Normally I'd just take her but after the long night I didn't want to wake her up! by the time i was ready to leave she was waking up. I was hoping I could come back home and take a nap but that never happened. I finally was able to take nap around 2:30pm.
Home Sweet Home
We got home Saturday night around 9:30pm. My mom had done some cleaning. She scrubbed our bathroom and did some clothes... I was very happy. As I was walking her out I noticed a new bag of potatoes by the fridge... i thought to myself... where did those come from? I realized mom must have bought groceries! I opened up the fridge and it was stocked!!! My sister and my mom bought us a bunch of groceries... the freezer was packed full of meat and the cabinets were stocked as well. I was almost in tears!!!!
After my mom left we tucked jessica in and peaked in on Darcy. Darcy was awake!!!!! We ended up staying in there for a while trying to get her back to sleep... she wouldn't let either one of us leave the room! I could still hear the congestion in her chest :(

The seminar
All week long leading up to the day we left I didn't have a clue as to what to expect. I didn't know where the seminar was being held until the day before. I had tried several times to get in touch with someone to find out more information but was unsuccessful. Thursday afternoon I was given the number to the speaker and was told I needed to contact him. I tried several times but wasn't able to leave a message b/c the 'voicemail box was full.' I called the main office again on Friday. I was given an address of the seminar location and the time. It was to be held at the John Parker Bay House at 9am... I googled the place but found nothing. I map quested the address and luckily was able to print out directions. According to the directions it was only 8 minutes from our hotel. We checked out Saturday morning at 8:20... leaving us plenty of time to get there... so we thought! We drove around looking for the place but couldn't find it. After riding up and down this road I remembered I had the number for the place. A man answered the phone and I explained that I couldn't find the John Parker Bay House... he kinda snickered. He said well we all couldn't fit in John's bay house so we moved it to his other house. He proceeded to guide me to the right location. Sure enough we were at someone's house. Matt & I were a little uncomfortable but there was nothing we could do about it. We went in and followed this little old lady to the living room. There were people everywhere!!!!!! We ended up sitting on the hardwood stairs leading down into the living room for THREE HOURS!!!!! I was not happy... for those of you who don't know... I have a bad back and sitting on stairs with no support for so long is not going to be pretty. The first 3 hours we watched a video... after each little segment we'd stop and discuss what we'd just watched... it was kinda boring. We broke for lunch at 12. But we weren't able to leave... they served us lunch... soup. I wasn't that impressed and neither was Matthew... he's not much of a soup kinda guy and def. not during the summer! After lunch we broke up into small groups and did some role playing... we actually enjoyed this part. The last 3 hours we did mock classes and thats where we learned a lot.
oh... matt always makes fun of me b/c no matter where we are at I know someone... sure enough I knew another lady there!!!! how ironic! She's from the vinyard on valleydale... she used to work with my mother at professional title.

Leaving for the conference
I was supposed to have packed friday but I didn't get around to it. Besides it was only for one night!! So when Matt got home I started packing. We had planned on leaving around 3:30 but I dont' think we left until 5pm!
We dropped the girls off at his parents house. Matt's folks were going to watch Darcy while my mom took Jessica to open house.
Jessica's teacher is Mr. Quinn. He was born and raised in Alaska. He's in his 30's. I met him yesterday on the first day of school... which I tell you about later :)
Anyways so off we were... we enjoy road trips b/c we do a lot of talking. We picked out Darcy's name on the road :) And while on this trip we talked about what we'd name the next one ;) We stopped in Prattville to eat at Ruby Tuesdays. We went overboard!!!!! We had an appetizer and ended with dessert!!!!! We made it there a little after 9pm. Not bad timing if you ask me... esp since we stopped.
Our hotel was really nice.... nicer than what we're used to anyways... lol. We normally find the cheapest hotel/motel. But our pastor booked it for us... we were at the Holiday Inn Express.
funny story.... one time matt and I spent the night in Atlanta at this really rank motel. When checking in I asked the man where the vending machines were and he said "you go straight to room and don't go outside!" he was dead serious!!!!!!!!

Last Friday
After leaving the doctor's office I went by my mom's office to eat lunch with her. I ended up leaving the girls with her while I ran to the mall. I had picked up the wrong size bra the other day and I needed to exchange it. While in Lane Bryant I tried on some jeans.... i have ONE pair and they have a whole in the booty!!! The jeans fit perfectly EXCEPT they were too long!!!! I asked the sales lady if they came in short and fat or just fat? She laughed. She said they had them in petite on the internet but I needed to get the sku # off the tag to order them. I pulled out the tag and OMG!!!!! The jeans were $80!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess I will not be wearing those jeans any time soon! I also found a really nice blouse while there... I tried it on but it 'ran small' of course what I really mean is... i've grown! I had to practically peel the thing off of me and sure enough they didn't have it in any other size!!!

I know I know... I haven't been a good blogger lately. Instead of posting everything on one BIG post I will try and break it down for you guys. I'll start with Darcy's doctor appt.
I was told to be there a little early to fill out paper work. The doctor had moved offices and none of her personal information transfered. I didn't mind. I got there at 8:20.... her appointment was at 8:45am.
The doctor's office has 2 seperate waiting rooms. One for well babies and the other for sick ones. We were in the sick room. No one else was in there. The room was full of empty chairs and Lion King II? was playing. In walks a older lady with her two grandchildren (probably 5 years old... twin girls). I'm filling out papers and darcy is playing at my feet. I noticed this woman was walking right towards me and I'm thinking to myself 'lady go sit somewhere else. I don't want my kid to get whatever your kids got.' Sure enough she sits on the other side of my purse (my purse is in the chair next to me). The next thing I know this lady is saying "can you move your purse?" Now i'm sitting here thinking "heck no! you've got the whole room lady!" But instead I'm in shock and I move my purse after she repeats herself and adds "she (granddaughter) wants to watch the movie." THEN!!!!! The lady gets up and starts brushing her granddaughters hair... okay you guys know that in waiting rooms the chairs are right up against the next chair.... I was disturbed. Finally THEY were called back. I didn't let the fact that i was there before them bother me... I was just glad they were gone.
To make a long story short I was called back at 9:45.... a full hour past my appt time!!!!!!
Darcy checked out fine. The doctor checked her ears and everything. She gave me some stuff for congestion. She said it was probably just her teeth. Yippee!

trouble
i'm having trouble with my blog.. i've posted things but all thats coming up is the title! I've been braggin about how much better blog is than xanga and now look what happens!
Tonight Matt and I were able to clean our bedroom... big accomplishment!!!!! We also read half of our book... i'm going to read the other half tomorrow and he's going to read it on the way down... i drive :)
Also... please keep darcy in your prayers. all week she's had a runny nose but i brushed it off... well today when Matt got home she stayed in his arms for almost an hour without moving (very unlike darcy bug). We took her temp and sure enough she had a fever 100.3! She has a dr. appt tomorrow morning... i'm hoping its all just related to her teething. I'm supposed to leave her with my mom this weekend and i'm a little nervous. She's spent the night away from home many times (yeah i know she's only 8 1/2 months old) I'm more worried about the fact that i'll be over 3 hours away and she's not feeling good!

10 more days!
Nothing really exciting is happening today. I've tried to clean up some... still haven't cleaned our bedroom :( I have to get it done before Friday though... my parents are staying here this weekend while matt and I are at the Crown Financial conference in Fairhope, AL. It would be easier on Darcy (she only likes her bed).
WELL THIS IS JUST GREAT!!!!! I just went into the kitchen to grab my cell phone and there's a great BIG PUDDLE OF WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our sink is leaking... its been leaking but i thought Mr. B fixed it - GUESS NOT!

Terrific Tuesday
yippee... today I went to the pool with Lisa... she lives in waterford. I never rained... there was NO ONE at the pool... seriously I think we counted less than 10 people actually in the pool.
We had sloppy joes tonight with baked beans and mac n cheese.
Matt started to mow the grass but his father came by and said he'd be back over to do it.
***side note*** Matt has really bad allergies and when he cuts the grass he's sick for days!
But its after 6pm and his dad hasn't come back by... i think i'm going to do it myself! I don't mind cutting it (we have a riding lawnmower)... its just that its really high right now and it will have to be raked or else it will look like a hay field.
WAIT ... his dad just pulled up! yeah! that means I can do things inside... or I might trim the hedges :)
PS... this weekend we're going to a financial conference in Fairhope.

plum tired

I went over to Lisa's today to help get her room in order. They're having a housewarming party this weekend but I'll be out of town. We were able to get a lot done. I was over there from about 11:30 till 4:30!!!!!
I forgot to fill you guys in on my weekend. Saturday matt worked... I took Tina to register at Babies R Us. She bought my lunch - Olive Garden!!! yummy!!! That night matt and I rented movies... Jessica had gone bowling with my family. We ran by Zaxby's and got their buffalo fingers AWESOME!!!!! We'd never been there before... it was soooooo good! We watched Diary of a Mad Black Woman - great movie! I cried!! And Million Dollar Baby... cried again! We've got one more to watch... Hide and Seek.... hopefully we can watch it tonight... they're due back by 11pm! Blockbuster's in alabaster is back to late fees!!! They said that people were keeping the movies out and there was nothing to rent.
sunday was the dedication and afterwards we went to eat with my family. last night we had a surprise party to be at... Brian Underwood and Shannon Poe both turned 30!!!!! We got home around 9pm.
