4 crazy kids, 1 amazing husband, 2 smelly dogs. It can't get any better than this... Its My Life!

I forgot
I forgot to tell ya that Jacob is finally walking. He's been walking for about 2 weeks now. Jeremiah walks circles around him but at least he's walking. He still crawls too. When Jeremiah figured out how to walk he never went back to crawling but Jacob does them both.
THATS MINE!
This is Jacob (orange) & Jeremiah (blue) fighing over a cup. They are always trying to take something away from one another.... actually JEREMIAH is always trying to take something away from Jacob! Jacob most of the time just lets him have it and goes on about his business but not this time... if its food or a sippy cup he'll put up a fight!
MAPQUEST
Friday I worked for my mom's boss. They had me take donuts to all their big clients. I started on one side of town and made a huge loop. It took me all day! I planned out my route before I left the office. I used mapquest to get me from place to place. One trip was from Pinson to Trussville. It was to take about 10 minutes. I had the bosses daughter with me so we were talking and I didn't realize how long it had been. Finally I said something wasn't right. I called my dad and it was about the same time that I noticed a high school... It was Oneonta High School. Well if you're from around here you know that I was not anywhere near Trussville. Instead of driving EAST I was going NORTHEAST! The worst part was there was no way to get to Trussville without turning back and going all the way back to pinson and starting over!!!!!!
Thats not the first time Mapquest has given me the WRONG directions!

Looking Back...
Not a lot to report on. I feel like my blog is getting pretty boring these days. But just in case someone is still reading I will post for YOU!
Matthew and I were able to do some stuff in my office over the weekend. We put the shelves up in the closet and I was able to go through a bunch of junk. I got sidetracked by boxes of pictures and spent some time going through them. You might see some of them on here :)
We went to church on Sunday. Matthew played his guitar during P&W. He loved it. They loved it. And I'm pretty sure it will be a regular thing :)
Jessica has volleyball practice every day until school starts back. They practice in the mornings from 8 - 9am. She spent the night with my parents last night so I didn't have to take her. But I had to pick her up. On my way there this morning I witnessed a car wreck. Well actually I had turned around to check on the kids when I heard it. I turned back around just in time to see the two cars spinning across the road in opposite directions. I pulled over to check on them. I called 911. Both ladies were not hurt but just shaken up a bit. I had to leave them b/c I had all the kids and needed to pick up jessica... besides I wouldn't have been any help to the police since I didn't actually see the wreck. From what I can tell the one car was in the turning lane to make a left turn across traffic. The other car was in on coming traffic. The lady in the turning lane tried to beat the traffic but instead got nailed. It was LOUD.
Things are coming together for our 'start date' on wednesday. Still trying to work out a few bugs in the system but I think its all going to be fine. I'm really looking foward to it.
Well I've gotta run... Jessica has an orthodonist appointment this afternoon and I'd better take a shower while the boys are napping.

Ebay
Here we go again with ebay... I sold some cd's and dvd's on ebay a few years back and did great. So now I'm attempting to sell my children's clothing. Any tips or suggestions? After uploading the pictures I realized I should iron the clothes next time :) LOL I'll learn!
My little office
My office is very cozy. Its bigger than any other office I've had :) I have a great little reception desks thats the perfect size. There's even room on one side of my desk to set up my sewing machine when I have time.
My boss was very impressed with my set up here. He didn't even seem to mind the Gator decor. I'm still haven't gotten all of my office supplies yet but soon... very soon. I'm working tomorrow for my mom's company. Did I mention my mom's company will soon be my competition - LOL. This isn't the first time we've been in this situation.

I'd never heard of muscle milk. I looked it up and this is what it says...
Its an "evolutionary" muscle formula promoting efficient fat burning, lean muscle growth and fast recovery from exercise. Metabolically favorable ingredients stimulate growth and recovery in a similar manner to mother's milk nourishing a baby.
My husband used to drink some sort of protein shakes after he worked out. Most shakes are to build muscle but I need to something that would help me lose the weight first. This seems like it would do both. I might have to try this out.

technology these days
I remember when walkman's came out... the ones that played casette tapes. Then I remember when the CD walkmans came out. We just thought those were the coolest things ever. But now they have MP3 player. They can hold hundreds of songs. They're small and light. They's no skipping like the good ole walkmans would do. I see people with them all the time... working out, grocery shopping and walking. I've borrowed Matthew's a few times to keep me company during one of my midnight walmart trips... its great! Do you have one? Do you use as much as you thought you would? I'm seriously asking this b/c I've thought about asking for one for my birthday but don't want to waste money on it if I won't use it.
In the news
So how do you feel about whats going on with Lindsay Lohan? She needs some serious help. I don't know what its like to be in her shoes but apparently its more than her and many others can handle. She needs addiction treatment along with some straight up counseling. Her poor family seems all jacked up. Look at her dad. I don't know whats going to happen to her but I hate to see this young, talented girl lose it all over drugs. This is waaay beyond a Paris Hilton thing... she's got to be accountable for her actions. What would you suggest?

this and that
Today the attorney I will be working for came by to see my 'office' and to do some things on my computer. He's a really nice guy. We talked about church and we agree about the entertainment part of it. Its nice to work for someone who is a christian. Tonight I actually got a prayer request from him by email. neat huh. I really feel like this job is an answer to prayer... its a dream job. Thank you Jesus!
Darcy has been under my skin all day today. She stayed right under us while my boss was here which isn't unusual for her when someone new is around. But then this evening she was bouncing off the walls!!!! We invited my parents down for dinner and they even made a comment about her being WIRED. There were times where we needed to discipline her but we couldn't keep a straight face. She's a mess!!!!!! I've never seen her act like that before.
We thawed out the AC unit last night but didn't realize we could turn it back on afterwards. I must have misunderstood my dad cause I thought he said something totally different. We were miserable last night. All of our bedrooms are upstairs (except Jessica's and she had spent the night with her nanna). We all slept with our doors open (thats a first!). It was too hot and muggy outside to open the windows.... we just stuck it out! Today when I talked to my dad he informed me that I could turn it back on but it would freeze back up again if I didn't watch it. I decided that I'd leave it off until closer to bedtime so hopefully it would work throughout the night. So far so good.
Well I guess I should try and go to sleep. I've been having trouble sleeping at night... I slept best early in the mornings but unfortunately the babies don't give me enough 'sleep in' time. We're normally up anywhere from between 8:00 & 9:30 which I know is good compared to a lot of mom's I know who's children wake up EARLY!!!! I'm grateful, really I am.

ITS HOT IN HERE!
During the day I don't go upstairs much. Last night when Matthew went to put the boys down he said it was really hot upstairs. We looked at the thermostat and guess what?!?!?!? It was set on 70ish and it was reading over 80 degrees! Yep! Our upstairs A/C unit is out! Its frozen up and my dad said not to run it b/c it could mess up something else... I dunno. All I do know is it was HOT last night! All but Jessica's room is upstairs. We all slept with our doors open... something we never do. I work up miserable this morning!

To answer Mel's question...
Nothing happened per say... its just that I have a hard time going there b/c I know of things the Pastors have said & done regarding a lot of different stuff. Its one thing to overlook people at a church that you don't agree with but its totally different when its the people in charge.
I liked the old Kingwood better before MC's, the new building and crowded pews. I've never liked to hear Pastor Cox preach and the last few times I'd been there I felt like I was watching a drama or something. I mean one minute he's talking normal, the next he's screaming, the next he's fake crying and then BAM back into talking normal. I just felt like it wasn't sincere... just more of a put on. And he hardly ever uses scripture.
I hate that people have come and gone and no one ever notices. I hate that if you do decide to leave that people assume you've 'backsliding' and I know these things probably happen everwhere but I've experienced them first hand there. I want a churh that is more concerned about the people already warming their pews than how they need MORE people. In my opinion people get lost there. There's no accountability. I know tons of people go to the atler there every Sunday but do they really feel God or is it just an emotional hype? I say... its just an emotional hype for waaaay too many new believers and thats why they end up in the same shape they were in.

Church
We've been going to a new church for the last 3 weeks. We weren't sure in the beginning how we felt about it b/c its soooo different than anything we've ever been to. We left our church of 5 years b/c we wanted more for our kids. We tried to go back to Kingwood but there's no going back there.
Some friends from the school invited us to their church. We've met their pastor before and liked him a lot so we thought we'd give it a chance. He and his wife are our age. The funny part is... its in CHELSEA!!!! But honestly it takes us the same amount of time to get there than it did to get to Kingwood. And even funnier than that... there is hardly any youth/children!! Only ONE pastor... no choir, no microphones, no band (and not b/c they don't believe), no childrens church pastor and no youth pastor!!!
Our first Sunday there we were SHOCKED to say the least. We had no idea what to expect but by far we would have never have guessed it to be as small as it was. Our kids were the only kids I saw that first sunday. I sang out of a hymnal for the FIRST time ever! We sang one song standing and three sitting. The pastor's wife led us and an older lady played the piano. When it was time for the Pastor (Brother Caleb) to preach I wasn't sure about it but he was so simple and to the point. I felt like I was being taught something. And the sermon was something we talked about throughout the week... the THREE of us.
I've tried to explain the reason we like it to people but its hard to explain... I guess I would say this about the church... there's no playing on your emotions, you're not going to be entertained there, your not going to get caught up in some emotional drama, song or sermon then wonder later if that feeling you had was real or just emotional. Its not about the awesome praise & worship or the loud huge youth group... there's no hype involved. Its GOD... simple, plain and easy to follow. The people in that sanctuary are Godly people. Pure is a word that comes to mind when I think of that church. I not saying there's no sin... I'm just saying whatcha see is whatcha get. Good ole country folks loving Jesus. I know if my kids find Jesus there its real (if that makes any sense to ya).
We even took our kids to Vacation Bible School last week! Darcy loves it... she ask when we're going to church all the time. They teach her little bible verses. Jessica even likes it and that was something we were really worried about. But for the time being thats where we are... New Bethesda Baptist Church.

Closer
Its getting closer and closer till our official start up date. I'm a little nervous about trying to work and take care of the kids but I'm sure it will be fine. We'll have to work out a new routine. I'm hoping that once we're back to taking Jessica to school so early that Darcy will be ready for a nap when her brothers go down. As of now she's cut them out completely.
I'm really looking forward to that first pay check! I've already set out goals for the new money. We've got some things we wanna do to and around the house. We also need a vacation!!! I would like to go ahead and start buying some christmas presents too!

Darcy's new thing
Can you guess what my little Darcy bugs want everynight before going to bed????
I betcha can't!
She wants "hot milk" before going to bed. Matthew started it! He warms it in the microwave and she drinks it up!!! Sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night for more 'hot milk!'

Flowing Freely
My wonderful husband came home today and decided to wash the dog outside for me b/c she STINKS! Well what was going to be a simple task turned into a nightmare within minutes. The hose will not turn off! I watered the entire yard while he attempted to fix it. He had to go under the house but apparently the faucet is bad. We ended up having to turn off ALL the water going to the house. ((( I was in the middle of washing clothes and was about to take a shower))) I called my brother in law aka MR FIX IT. He offered to come over and fix it after work. Well I called my sister to tell her that he was coming over and lets just say she was a little unhappy. She went on and on how he had to pick her up and then they were supposed to just go home and relax. Needless to say I said "okay don't worry we'll find something else!" So I called my dad (matt's dad is on a business trip and is in meetings all day!) and he gave us a few suggestions. Matthew is on his way to the hardware store right now.
Pray we can fix this tonight... you don't realize how many times you turn on the water until you don't have it to turn on!

Can anyone guess what number I posted above????
Its Poison Control! And yes, I had to call it this morning! I had bought some of those Air Wick plug ins and placed them throughout the house including the boys room... i know i know... how stupid! When I first put it in their room it was in a place they couldn't see or get to but yesterday I moved it b/c I couldn't smell it. Well, this morning they were in their room playing and found it. They pulled it out of the wall, tore it apart and SUCKED the WICK!!!! I found them with their little faces glowing orange. The smell was really strong and I knew what had happened. I called Jessica's nanna first b/c she's a nurse at children's... she told me to call poison control. PC said to give them crackers and water b/c we didn't want them to throw up b/c it could get in their lungs. And I can't feed them anything for at least an hour. She said to call back if they started coughing, throwing up or if anything else happened. So far so good. I feel like an idiot!!!
Before
This picture was taken just before she put on makeup for the first time! She was sooo excited and I was really nervous! LOL
Growing up
This was Jessica's first time wearing makeup. Since this picture was taken we've 'talked' about makeup. She's not allowed to wear black mascarer, only clear and it looks a lot better! We also went and bought some... this makeup was a mix between mine and her friends. Jessica now has her own makeup complete with her little makeup bag.
sweetie pie
We went swimming this past monday at Jessica's friends house. Their backyard was amazing!!! This picture was taken next to their waterfall.
Coolest Cake Ever
I had this cake made by someone locally.... Jessica loved it! I described to her what I wanted and I got it!

My sister
I can't remember if I've posted anything about this before or not. My sister has been having near passing out spells during her pregnancy. I brushed them off b/c she hadn't actually passed out and feeling dizzy is pretty normal in pregnancy. She's been seeing a heart doctor and she is actually in the middle of wearing her heart monitor for 30 days. Well today she passed out while she was pulling her car out of the garage. My nephew had to call my parents. The doctor didn't want to see her but she did tell Renee that she couldn't drive any more. I can completely relate to this and know how frustrating its going to be for her over the next few months. Her due date is late September. Please keep her in your prayers.

i met my quota
sorry about all the random post. matthew says i'm a sell out b/c i've turned my blog into a big ole advertisment.
Vacation
I need a vacation. Matthew and I haven't had a vacation for just us and our kids ever! I would love to take our kids to Disney World but it can get pretty expensive with accomodations and food. I found this condo hotels rental deal 20 minutes away where its only $99 a day! Thats a great deal. We might can afford something like that! I need to check this site out for more destinations. They have places all over the world to rent out!
Something to write about...
I actually enjoyed this assignment for teak outdoor furniture because Matthew and I are in market for some really good outdoor stuff. We have an awesome long country front porch that desperately needs some furniture. We also have a huge deck that is bare. One of the things I put on our list to buy for the house is outdoor furniture. This place has some really nice stuff.
Clubs?
As you can tell I'm doing the payu2blog deal and the assignments they give me are sometimes hard to write about. Most of the time I have to follow the link myself to find out what it is I'm writing about. Today's assignment is on Callaway Golf. I'm not much of a golfer but my grandfather is a BIG golf player. Not big as in famous... but BIG as in he spends every free moment at the golf course. In fact, they moved just to be closer to the golf course! I'm sure he has a few of these clubs in his collection.
Miracle Drug?
Have you ever heard of Hoodia?
I have actually thought about ordering this off the internet but wanted to know if anyone had tried it. I have seen it advertised on Oprah and all over commericals. The success stories are wild but I'm a little nervous to try it. I'm currently taking a prescription weight loss drug but its not working fast enough. What do you about it? Would you be comfortable ordering it off the internet?
Speedy
I have definitely had my share of speeding tickets in the past. In fact I had to spend EIGHT hours in driving school a few years back b/c my license were on the verge of being suspended. I often thought about investing in a radar detector but there were too many stories out there saying they were illegal. I have cut back on my speeding tremedously since adding new passengers to my car and don't need one now. Do any of you have one? Do they work?
Up and Runnin
Well I've officially joined the working world again. Today I met with the other attorneys in the firm. We also sat down with the IT department for a little bit of training. I will be set up from home to access their server and stuff. I may have to increase my memory on my computer but I don't know for sure yet. I've check around and found some sort of dell memory upgrade stuff. I'll have to look into that further.

An answer to prayer
Starting August 1st I will be working from home!!
We have been praying about the possibility of me working and sending the kids to daycare for months now. But the cost of daycare is so expensive I'd have to make a lot of money just to come out ahead.
An attorney that I've dealt with a few times contacted me about working from home. At first it sounded too good to be true. I didn't say anything to anyone b/c I didn't want to get my hopes up. But it looks like its really gonna happen!! I've talked with him several times through emails and phone calls. I've met with him once and I'm meeting with him again tomorrow at the "firm". LOL! After our meeting we're going to get all the supplies I'll need for my home office.
The best part about this whole ordeal is.... this attorney is a good godly family man. He knows and understands the value of family. He has told me that there are going to be days that I can't get things done due to kids and thats fine with him. He says he doesn't want me locked in my office 24/7 and feeling like I'm neglecting my children. He wants this to be a blessing to me and not a burden. He's paying me good money and I'm very excited about this new adventure.
OH... You wanna know what it is I'm going to be doing huh???? I'm going to be doing the same thing I was doing before I had Darcy... a closing secretary. So if you're going to be refianancing or buying a house in the near future please let us help you out!

Business Degree???
If I decided to go to college at some point in my life I would get a business degree. I would learn the ends and outs of how a business actually runs.
Matthew is getting his journeyman's card (hopefully) in September. After that he can go for his Masters Electrician's card which would allow him to start up his own company one day if he chooses. One of the reasons why he says he would never do that is because he'd have the headache of doing all the 'office' part of it along with the 'work' part of it. So I thought if I got a business degree that I could handle the 'office' part of it. I found something that would benefit us greatly. Its a financial reporting software that would make keeping up with that stuff simply. I love my little homemade spreadsheet that I keep for our personal budget. I can imagine this would be extremely helpful with a business.

My big ole family
We have SIX of us in our immediate family. We have a rectangular dinning room table that seats 6. Right now 2 of them sit in high chairs so when my parents come over we have room for them at the table. But once the twins out grow their high chairs we will need to do something else. I have always wanted to have a really big round dinning table but it would be hard to fit one of those in a room because they're so wide. I also like the square tables that seat 2 on each side making it a total of 8 seats. Most of them have a leaf that you can take out to make smaller. I've been looking around and found some really good prices at Bush Furniture. Go and tell me which one you like the best out of them.
Its all about the SHOES!
Shoes make the wardrobe.
They can make or break an outfit but can they make or break an athlete?
I think so!
If you don't have the right shoes for the right sport it will not give in the areas it needs to give. It will not allow you to move easily.
Shoes protect and support our feet. Athletes are hard on their shoes and they need a good pair that will support their movement.
Basketball players, for example, are jumping and making quick movements. They've got to have a shoe that will allow them to move freely without weighting them down.
One of the most popular advertised show is the Air Jordan. They call it that b/c its light and it allows you to reach the sky.
Do you think having the right shoes affects the ability to play a sport?

Another sad day in the news...
One of the teenage girls in a video featuring a young girl acting strange — leading some to say she was given the drug ecstasy — said Tuesday that the girls did not give the youngster any drugs.
Texas authorities located all of the the teens from the video Tuesday, according to MyFoxHouston.com. Harris County Lt. John Martin said investigators are currently questioning the teens — all from the Houston area — about what happened that day.

The video, which was posted under a heading "Mother Gives Ecstasy to Child," shows the young girl rolling her eyes into the back of her head as she rides in the backseat of a van filled with teen girls. One girl waves an iPod in front of her face and pinches her cheeks.
Now, one of the teens told investigators they were driving back from South Padre Island and shot the video because they were bored. The teen said the little girl is impressionable and that does whatever she is asked to do. She insisted that none of the teens in the van gave the child ecstacy or any other drugs.
Now that the teens have been located, officials with Child Protective Services will now investigate the child's welfare.
The video broke earlier Tuesday and drew guesses from officials about if the girl was on drugs.
"From her actions, from her physical look, it's possible that she was given, and in fact it's even mentioned on the video, that she was given a hit of ecstasy," Jackson County Sheriff Andy Louderback told FOX News on Tuesday.
The teens in the video allude to drug use. "Look at her, she rollin' hard," one of the girls said.
"Stop rollin’ girl," one said to the child. "You shouldn’t have popped a full x."
A pamphlet in a pocket of the vehicle's front seat led Texas officials to believe that the video was shot in the Houston area. The van is also tuned to KHCB-FM, a Christian radio station in Houston.
Did you catch that last part about the van's radio station being tuned to a christian radio station - GREAT!

Birthday Shopping
Last night Matthew and I went shopping for Jessica's b'day. She was at camp and his parents watched the little ones. We headed to the mall.
Let me say something just to clear this up.... Jessica NEVER ask for anything. She is not a spoiled kid. She knows we cannot afford certain things and she's okay with it. But she's growing up and her 'style' is changing. And with change it gets a little more expensive. I don't neccesarly think Jessica thinks she has to have what every one else has so she can fit in... I really think Jessica is good a being an individual but that doesn't mean that she's not going to want something that someone else has... its just not going to devastate her if she doesn't get it.
Moving on... A while back I told you about the bag of clothes my cousin passed down to Jessica. She was thrilled to get those clothes... mainly b/c her wardrobe tends to repeat itself. She got several pair of jeans in that bag... delias, abercrombie and silver were her favorite. She's always been real funny about how her jeans fit on her legs and apparently she liked the ways these fit. Well the jeans were too long for my cousin so she had cut them at the bottom. At Jessica's school she's not allowed to wear jeans like that so she asked for some for birthday.
So here Matthew and I were at the mall last night shopping for Jessica. We went in Delias and found the style of jeans she wanted... they even came in SHORT. We got those and headed down to abercrombie where Jessica had tried on a really cute top a few weeks back during our 'girls night out'... we got the shirt. We wanted to buy her one more pair of jeans. Well I thought that the SILVER jeans were like silvertab for men made by Levis. So we headed to one of the many department stores. We looked in several stores but had no luck. Finally I called my aunt to find out where she'd gotten them. Are you ready for this?????? Silver Jeans are they're own brand NOT made by Levis. They infact run anywhere from $80 to $100 a pair!!!!! Only 'special' stores carry them... She had found my cousins pair at a consignment shop. Needless to say she will not be getting a pair of those anytime soon!
The next thing I remember Jessica saying something about were Wallabees. So we stopped by one of the shoe stores to see if they carried them. Sure enough they had em. The girl asked me what size I needed I told her I needed to see the price first. They were $100!!!!! I told that girl we'd have to come back. LOL I cannot buy Jessica a pair of $100 shoes when the childs foot grows like watered grass in the spring! She's gonna have to stop growing before I spend that kind of money on clothes and shoes. She's gotta get a new wardrobe for every season b/c the clothes from last year don't fit her anymore!
We wanted to buy her one more little thing so we went to The Icing. I was looking for some cute scarf/headband thingys but didn't find any that I liked. On our way out of the store I saw a bunch of makeup on sale. We told Jessica when she turned 12 she could wear makeup. Matthew is not for this but he's being good. He actually thought it was a good idea for US to pick out her makeup rather than have her or someone else buy it. So we searched and searched for the perfect shades of eye shadow. If I showed him anything that was remotely colorful or sparkled he wasn't for it. He cracked me up! We ended up getting her a compact that had various shades of neutral colors. LOL
After that we had had enough shopping for one day so we headed back to his parents house.
I know Jessica is going to be sooo thrilled over the stuff we got her. She doesn't even know we went shopping. She thinks we stayed at the Brock's house while she was at camp. We had told her last month when she got her cell phone that she could count it as her b'day present. And we're not going to give her stuff to her on saturday when we have her party... we're going to wait until her actual b'day.

Tombstones
I was just looking at Crystal's post about funeral's and it reminded me of something I've been meaning to share all this week.
This past weekend I visited my grandmother's grave for the first time since we buried her nearly 13 years ago. I was walking around the SMALL cemetary looking for her grave but couldn't find it. I called my mom and she said it was next to her great grandparents... well I was standing next to their grave but all that was next to it was a pile of rocks - THAT was my Granny Ruby's grave. I was sooooo upset that no one ever bought her a tombstone but at that time no one could afford one. I later confronted my mom about it and she said that my granny wouldn't care... but to me it represents how much WE cared about HER! I'm now looking into finding her a tombstone or something other than a pile of rocks!!!

Team MOM!
Jessica's volleyball coach asked me to be team mom. I was honored. I was responsible for getting the girls to camp last night. Coach was out of town and his assistant coach called in sick. I called last week and reminded everyone of camp and the forms due. I was hoping everything would run smoothly but we had a few bumps. Some girls showed up without their permission slip... what were they thinking??? But we got it all taken care of and made it to camp just in time. I was a little nervous about being there by myself with the girls b/c I'm NOT there coach and don't know a whole lot about coaching or the sport. But we managed just fine. I was really impressed with the girls. They were very respectful of me and did exactly what I asked them to do. Once we got to camp I just basically got to sit back and watch. They have improved soooo much.
On the way home I suggested that they look uniform Tuesday night and asked them to all wear a black shirt. Most of the girls were fine with that but of course you had a handfull that didn't own a black shirt - yea right! When I spoke to Coach about this earlier he laughed and said "welcome to the world of coaching!" LOL
I will not be going with the girls tonight... instead Matthew and I are going b'day shopping for Jessica. I hope to go with them tomorrow night. All in all it was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to being involved with the team in whatever way I'm needed.

SILLY GOOSE!
She wouldn't sit still so we could take a picture!
Last week when she spent the night with my parents my mom called her a silly goose. Darcy politely said "I'm not silly goose! I'm silly Darcy!" I guess she thought my mom was calling her the dog... remember we have a dog name goose!
So mature looking!
She looks soo much older in this picture.
By the way... she's sitting at my desk in my new office :) I'll post pics soon. We finally finished my computer/office/arts&crafts room.
Gone Fishin
Darcy with her pole... this girl ask to go fishing all the time! She's been once but barely fished! LOL
A E I O U & sometimes Y
Vowels! Darcy was sitting at the table with me tonight playing with her new water color paint. I had painted her name and she was naming the letters... no she didn't know the right letters but out of know where she said "and thats a vowel" I was floored b/c I didn't teach her about vowels! I asked matthew and he said no. So I called his mom the only other possible person and she said no. I have no idea how my child learned the word vowels. I'm amazed.
Jessica News
Volleyball camp starts up this week. They have camp M - W at Samford. Its only in the evenings - PG! Coach Jones is out of town and asked me to go with them tomorrow night. He also asked me to be team mom... I was honored! Jessica threatened to quit but she was quickly put in her place!
We're having cake and ice cream Saturday to celebrate Jessica's b'day. Its actually not until the 18th but the next weekend we're supposed to go camping. She's going to be T W E L V E!!! We told her MANY years ago that when she was 12 she could wear makeup... those years flew by b/c now I wish I'd told her 30! hahahahaa
Jessica had a talk with her dad about his lacking in the dad department... we'll see how long his new 'change' last. Believe me when I say I want him to be a better dad but I just don't see it happening.
She read the Outsiders in 2 days! She's got some summer reading to do and they never sent her out a list we just happened to find out on our own a week ago. She's got 2 more books to read by Aug 14th. Thats when they start school back ((( a day after my b'day )))
The summer has flown by. All the things I said we would do never happened. I would like to spend a day with just her at visionland... maybe we can work that out.

OMG!
I just read the below story on foxnews.com and it made me sick
Two teenagers were accused of gang raping a woman and forcing her 12-year-old son to join in the attack, then beating him and pouring cleaning solution into his eyes.
Authorities allege Avion Lawson, 14, and Nathan Walker, 16, were among a group of about 10 masked suspects who forced their way into the woman's apartment in a crime-ridden housing project the night of June 18.
The two were being held without bail Friday on suspicion of armed sexual battery by multiple perpetrators, sexual performance by a child, armed home invasion and aggravated battery. Both were arrested this week, but formal charges had not been filed.
"Any rape case is horrible but this takes it to another level, something you can't think of even in your worst dreams," police spokesman Ted White said.
According to the police report, a man knocked on the woman's door at about 9 p.m. and told her he had a flat tire. The mother and son, whom police have not identified, went outside and were ambushed by a group of gun-wielding suspects.
The victims told police they were forced back into their home and beaten and sexually assaulted. According to authorities, the men raped, sodomized and beat the woman, then forced her son to participate in the assault at gunpoint, making him have sex with his mother in front of them.
The boy was then beaten and had numerous household cleaning liquids poured into his eyes, according to the police report.
The suspects also stole a few hundred dollars worth of cash and jewelry, White said.
White said more arrests were pending, but he would not say if authorities had identified additional suspects. The teens in custody were not cooperating, but Lawson confessed to taking part in the attack, White said. Walker has denied involvement, White said.
DNA evidence in a condom found in the victims' home linked Lawson to the crime, police said. Investigators also say they found a palm print belonging to Walker at the scene.
The victims did not suffer life-threatening injuries and have been released from the hospital, White said.
"They're going through the county victim services for counseling," he said.
Lawson lived in Dunbar Village, the hardscrabble project where the attack occurred. Walker was apparently visiting a friend there, White said.
Authorities believe the suspects all knew each other from the neighborhood, but they don't think they knew the victims directly.
Prosecutors have 21 days from the time a suspect is arrested to formally file charges. Lawson was arrested Tuesday. Walker was arrested Thursday.
A call to Lawson's public defender was not immediately returned. It was not known if Walker has an attorney.

Life as a Stay at Home Mom
I started this journey 3 years ago in September. I was due to deliver Darcy in November but started having some complications with my pregnancy and was forced to leave my job.
Prior to that I had often said to many different people that there was NO WAY that I would EVER be a SAHM b/c for many reasons but the first one was MONEY. I knew that at that time in our life we were struggling with 2 incomes and I knew we'd never make it with 2 children and 1 income.
The 2nd reason was b/c that was just not me! I had worked since I was old enough to spend the summers at my dad's office. I liked the feeling of getting things accomplished and being professional. I had worked hard to get where I had gotten with my career. I was a Real Estate Closing Secretary who was paid well.
In the months leading up to September my OB had some concern about my sugar... its wasn't too high but it was the opposite. I had also started to have fainting spells. With a few of those spells I had ceizure like symptons. I was sent to several different doctors and finally was told it was my heart. During the time of doctor flopping I was told I could not drive. I was put on bed rest without actually being told to stay in the bed. I had to eliminate all stress.... LOL! Well to make a long story short I took my maternity leave earlier than expected and once I had Darcy I only had 10 more days left of my leave. My employeer at the time told me if I could not report back to work in 10 days than I would be let go. So there I was with a baby just a few days old when our world was flipped upside down even more!
We struggled for many months but eventually put ourselves on a strict budget and we made it work. I love being home with my children and couldn't imagine it any other way. Thinking back to when Jessica was a baby I realize I missed soooo much. I was a young girl when I had her and I had no desire to be a mom. I regret not being more. I am here with my kids all day every day and yes at times that gets a little overwhelming. But I am so thankful for the opportunity.
I know there are moms that have to work and I will never pass judgment on them. I know how I felt yesterday after coming home from a long day. I could not imagine juggling being a mom and having a full time job outside of the home.
With all that said... I have been approached by an attorney... actually more than once... about working for him. The latest phone call was suggesting that he set me up to work from home. The pay is good and the rest sounds good too. Please pray with me about taking this step. I only want to do this if its God's will for us. It would relieve some of the stress financially and help me feel that feeling of self worth and accomplishment.

I don't wanna give all the details at this point b/c I don't wanna speak to soon... BUT I have an amazing opportunity to work FROM HOME doing exactly what I used to do... real estate closing secretary. I would really appreciate you guys praying that this works out. It would be an answer to prayer for us to have this come true.

4th of July
Last night Darcy spent the night with my parents while Jessica spent the night with Matthew's parents. The boys were in bed by 7pm. We had a movie night... first one in a long time. We watched the Pursuit of Happiness and The Lady in the Water. Will Smith was great. Matthew and I both enjoyed that movie. It was very stressful and I cried at the part where they were in church. But the other movie... Lady in the Water... it was H O R R I B L E! Seriously I thought it was one of the dumbest movies I'd ever seen.
Today we went to Matthew's parents house. His grandparents came over and we grilled out. We didn't stay too long b/c all the little ones were getting restless. We were home by 3:30 and spent the rest of the day just hanging out.
We watched the Birmingham fireworks on TV. They did a much better job at filming them this year than last but I thought the music was bad. I like the more traditional music... they didn't even play Lee Greenwood's God Bless the USA! GEEZ!
Matthew says today feels like a saturday and its hard for him to get back in the swing of things. I like the break in the middle of the week. Only 2 more days till the weekend :) Which has absolutely nothing planned for it but thats okay too. I think we're going to visit a new church on Sunday.
Well Goodnight everyone... hope you had a fun and safe holiday. Don't forget the men and women who are defending our freedom.

HAPPY MICHAEL MICHAEL DAY EVERYONE!
Matthew's brother, Michael, is in the army. I can't really tell you what he does or else I might have to kill ya... actually I don't know what he does! LOL
We have a picture of him in his uniform with a flag for the back drop. Everytime Darcy see's a flag she calls it a "Michael Michael Flag".... well today being the 4th our streets are lined with them and she's in Heaven. She loves her Michael Michael... instead of UNCLE michael it came out Michael Michael.
So Happy Michael Michael Day everyone!
