We only went to the beach ONCE!!! Our kids loved jumping waves... they didn't want to stand on the edge of the water... they wanted to be all the way in it!!!!! It was very stressful for us. We had hoped they'd just want to play in the sand... i guess they've got a sandbox at home and thats enough for them!
