Don't you just love the "system!" When a person actually NEEDS something it's hard to get, but if you want to be lazy and do nothing they will treat you to Food Stamps. (this does not apply to anyone who is on food stamps that is working their butt off along with receiving help from the government.) But, that is usually NOT the case!
WIC is frustrating, but it helps SO MUCH. I figure if I have to give them 2 hours of my time every month, its worth it. We are never in need of MILK, CHEESE or EGGS! Going to the WIC office is a PAIN here, compared to the TEXAS office, but the checks are SO much better here than in Texas. You don't have to worry about the amounts. Like you did in Texas. Anyway- it is a pain, but just remember its totally worth it!!! We couldn't make it without wic! And we don't quailfy for food stamps, so its a blessing!
