When is too early?

I love Christmas... I love the decorations.
But when is 'too early' to start putting out stuff? I went to Old Time Pottery a few weeks back and bought a bunch of cute Christmas stuff... I'm dying to set it all out. I don't think I'm ready to put up my tree (although I'd love to) because my little ones would not be able to keep their hands off of it! But I would like to put out some other cute decor... including some yard stuff. Is it too early?

I miss decorating for christmas. I sued to do it the day after Thansgiving. But since it is just me at home, and no boyfriend, and nobody really stops by - I can't muster up the energy to pull out all the decorations just for me to look at - yet I still buy new ornaments every year!!! I suppose it is a habit!. lol

Well, you have asked the best question! I say it's not too early. I'm putting my stuff up this weekend. :) I saw it's too much work to only have a short amount of time. Plus Christmas is my favorite time of year. I like to enjoy as long as I can.

I like for all decorations to be up and ready to go by Thanksgiving so I can turn it all on that night.
One of my granddaughters help me put my tree up on Oct. 15th just because I wanted to. There is too much to do to wait later and I love Christmas and want to see it all as long as possible. I still have the outside to get done and a lot more to put out in the house so the earlier the better. I have Christmas bears all around the tree and it never looks bare even if the gifts are not there yet.
My sister never takes her tree down. She lives alone and says it makes her feel good just to see it. Janice
