I asked Jessica how she slept last night and she said "like a pig!" I laughed and told her I'd heard people say they ate like a pig but never heard slept like a pig!
I took her temperature at 8:30am and it was 99.5. The doctor said he wanted to see her again tomorrow if she ran a fever today but I'm not sure if he meant any fever or just a high fever. I'll watch her closely today and call him later this afternoon.
4 crazy kids, 1 amazing husband, 2 smelly dogs. It can't get any better than this... Its My Life!

Can You Guess...
what 102.9 might be???
Its not a cool new radio station!
It was Jessica temperature this morning!
We've just gotten back from the doctor... he said it was virual. He wants her to stay home again tomorrow and we're watching her closely. If she runs a fever tomorrow then he wants to do testing on her to rule out Mono. Please say a prayer for her b/c she's one scared and sick child. There's been a couple of girls at school thats had mono and it took them a loooong time to get over it. She's afraid of missing school and not being able to play sports.
Also say a prayer for the rest of us b/c the doctor said she was very contagious! I stopped by the store on the way home and stocked up on chicken noodle soup, gatorade and lysol!

Kids Say the Cutest Things
Matthew took Darcy to the store with him the other night. She was going through the store naming all the fruits... she's sooo smart! Anyways these two mexicans walked by and Darcy pointed at them and said "Deigo daddy!!! Deigo!" Matthew said she was soooo excited to see Deigo that he couldn't get her away. We both got a huge laugh out of it. I'm not sure if they looked like him or if she just heard them speaking spanish... either way its pretty funny!

Question
Matthew and I have gone back and forth on whether or not we should get one of those wooden playsets. They can be very costly! We'd hate to spend all that money on one and our kids not play on it. So do any of you have one or something like it??? And do you think it was a good investment? Even if you don't have one you can still tell me your thoughts ;)
Our thoughts are.... our kids are young so they'd have plenty of years to play with it. We could just buy a metal one but they don't have the cool fort things with it and they RUST!
We're trying to make the most out of our HUGE yard. We're hoping to have plenty of things to do so that our kids don't get bored outside. So far we've decided on one of those blow up blue pools... family size --- Does anyone have any feedback on those???? And we want to build a sandbox. Jessica has a volleyball net and a basket ball goal. And we're putting up a privacy fence with our tax refund. I wouldn't mind having one of those little tykes picnic tables but I'm waiting to find one at a garage sale or thrift store.

Its Broken!
Darcy usually watches her favorite Dora and Boots video, Super Babies, when its time to take a nap or go to bed. Sometimes she'll wake up in the middle of the night and want you to turn it back on b/c it helps her fall back to sleep. Well last night it happened... The VCR broke!!! The VCR is the same one I had when I was a kid. The TV she's using has issues itself. The volume goes in and out but we were hoping it'd last just a little while longer. I'll guess we'll have to buy a new TV and VCR soon. She's the only one that has a TV in her room. The rest of us fight over the TV in the living room (we don't really fight b/c no one really cares about it). We've talked about letting Jessica have one in her room but we don't want her to isolate herself from the family. She has a portable DVD player that she uses sometimes.
What are you thoughts on having a TV in a childs bedroom?
In our old house matthew & I had one in our room with the dish hook up... so did Jessica. She knew what shows she was allowed to watch and I never had any trouble out of her. But my concern wasn't so much what she might watch but more about her staying in her room ... which she didn't. I had a TV in my room growing up and I'd stay in there all day! Matthew and I hardly watched the one in our room but it was nice to have just incase I wanted to lay in bed and watch the news or whatever.

My wonderful hubby
He turned 27 yesterday! I tried to convince him that he should take off since it was his birthday but he wouldn't/couldn't. I made his favorite.... hamburgers and fries! lol Jessica also made brownies to eat with our ice cream. The girls made him a huge colorful b'day card while I just went out and bought one ;) I also got him the new archeological study bible and some clothes.

Prayer Request
We got a call this morning that Jessica's uncle Wesley (her dad's brother - not my husband) had a freak accident yesterday. He was digging a whole with a tractor... actually the - i'm def not going to spell this right but oh well - the auger? anyways... its a big screw driver type deal that spirals down into the ground... his jacket got caught in it and it pulled him in. Thank God he had his back turned to it or else it would have been a lot worse. It broke both of his arms and the jacket nearly pulled his skin off his back. He had emergency surgery on both arms. He's lucky to be alive. He'll be released from the hospital either Monday or Tuesday but he'll have a long recovery. He can't use his arms so he's pretty much helpless. His wife, Marie, will have to do everything for him. Please keep them both in your prayers. We were able to visit with him today. He's in a lot of pain to say the least. And I'm sure once he has to give up the moriphin (sp) pump it will be worse.

Serious Bloggers
Does anyone else lay in bed at night and think of things you can blog about? I do but I rarely have time to actually blog about it!!!
Crazy Weather
Last night we spent 40 minutes in the bathroom with all the kids and their toys! LOL There were at least 2 "rotations" in our area but none touched down.
This morning is was soooo cold as I loaded up the kids to take Jessica to school. It was SNOWING IN CHILTON COUNTY! And it was windy too. I've moved the boys into their big boy carseats so now I have to take them one by one to the car. I used to just grab both infant carriers and teeter tot my way to the car.
Once I got off the interstate in Alabaster the snow was really heavy. It was beed up on the hood at red lights then blow off. You could see it blowing on the road. I was worried that they might call off school once I got back home but I guess its not going to STICK around long. LOL

Happy Valentines Day
We don't have any big plans b/c Matthew has no idea what time he'll get off. Yesterday he got off at 2:30... which is really good but when you don't know from day to day then it can be frustrating! He went in at 7am so he'll at least work till 3:30pm. I guess I'll just try and have the house SPOTLESS so all he has to do it come in and relax. Maybe I'll light some candles around the house ;) wink wink
American Idol
Well I went straight to Crystal's blog this morning to leave my comments about the show last night but she hasn't posted about it yet! I can't believe this!!! I guess I'll have to do it for her. I'm not really a big fan of AI... usually I just watch the auditions and thats it but I had some extra time last night so I watched it.
I thought the boys group that mixed it up were good. I'm not sure if they could sing or if the change just caught everyone off guard. I thought the boy with the fro looked like Jack Osbourne.
I felt really really bad for Bayley (i think thats how she spells it). I wish they would have given her a second chance. I wanted to knock those other two girls out! Maybe she'll be the wild card... who knows.
I also felt bad for the black girl who sang what her momma wanted her to sing. The worse part is... thats going to haunt her for the rest of her life.... well maybe not the rest of it but at least for a while.
I thought the part about gay guy who had such an 'emotional' time could have been left out of the show... I mean do we really need to hear about his family problems. Do you think that little episode might effect how people vote for him?
Do you already have a favorite? I like Bayley but I'm not sure who I'll pull for now.

Its been a while
since I've last posted. I've not had a lot of time since Matthew's been working soooooo stinkin much.
Saturday morning (okay so it was afternoon) I was laying on the couch thinking about how I didn't feel like doing anything (I was having a 'moment')... when all the sudden Darcy started screaming "Daddy!!! Daddy!!!" I looked up and there he was.... He had gotten off half a day! We spent the rest of the day playing in the floor with the kids. We also managed to get outside for a little bit.
Saturday night we layed on the couch and watched a PPV movie... this was probably the first time in MONTHS that we've been able to do this alone. We rented The World Trade Center.... it was sooo good but I was soooo emotional. It took me a long time to get everything out of my head that night. We were going to try and watch All the Kings Men but it didn't come on until an hour after the first movie ended and we couldn't keep ourselves awake that long.
Sunday we slept in.... okay so it was around 7:30am but thats sleeping in for a man who's been getting up at 3:30 for the last 2 weeks! I made breakfast and we slowly got everyone ready. We packed up and headed to town LOL aka Alabaster! We decided we'd better eat lunch so we grabbed some Arby's and headed to his parents house to visit. Our plans were to go to Lowe's and to Walmart (and to take the kids) but once we were at his parents house things changed. We stayed over there for a little while and then his parents ended up watching them while we ran to Lowe's and Walmart. We got back to our house around 6 and spent the rest of the night wishing we'd had more time together.... A day and a half is just not long enough after going 2 weeks without seeing each other!
side notes:
Matthew got an ipod from his parents for his birthday.... the BIG one! It holds 7,000 songs! I asked him if we could share and he said NO! He said he wouldn't be anywhere without it so I wouldn't be able to use it! LOL His b'day is the 19th. He'll be the big TWENTY SEVEN!!!! We were going to have a b'day party for him but I canceled it b/c he's supposed to be working all weekend... but he was supposed to have worked this past weekend.... I guess we'll see.
Jacob says Momma. Jeremiah dances while standing up and holding on to things.
Darcy's hair is getting soooooo long. I'm afraid that when I cut it her curls will fall out.... thats what happened to Jessica's.
Jessica has been a BIG help with the kids since Matthew's been working a lot. She finally finished the dreaded science fair project!
Oscar has been visiting since Saturday b/c my parents went out of town. The kids love him!

Matthew's B'day Party
Matthew will turn 27 on the 19th.
I'm having some folks over for a ice cream party.
What are some toppings I should buy?
Long Week
Matthew has worked a lot of overtime this week. Monday he didn't get off until 10 something and the rest of the week he's gotten off between 6pm and 7pm. He has to be at work by 5:30am... it takes him an hour to get there!
momma is ready to pull her hair out after being a single mom for a week... but guess what? its not over!!!! he's working this weekend and all next week will probably be the same crazy hours.
Thank God for the money but I miss my honey!
