Jacob
Jacob woke up from his nap on Friday with a 103.6 fever. I had no warning signs! The doctor said to keep a watch on him... make sure he's drinking, peeing and if he starts having any other symptons to call. Well so far its the same thing... low fever during the day but after nap its HIGH. I kept him home from church this morning. He was crushed when everyone else walked out the door. I don't really get any one on one time with my boys so I'm trying to make the most of this opportunity. I just hope the little guy can nip this fever thing!

?
Does anyone have the movie "Me and my big fat greek wedding"? I need to borrow it to get myself ready for what to expect.
How fun!
My cousin owns a clothing store in Montevallo call Royal Dutchess Clothing. She called me the other day to ask if I would be her ___________ I don't remember what she called me but basically I get to go online to wholesale clothing sites and pick out all the plus size clothes!!!!! I've been doing it the last 2 days during nap time and its sooooo much fun! She said I'd get to have anything I purchased.... EVEN BETTER!
Whats really sad is knowing how much things are marked up once they're in a store... if you knew it would make you SICK!
Anyways... go check our her site above. Or better yet... stop by her store and tell her I sent ya! She's right off of Main Street on Middle Street smack dab in the middle of town!

SPEECHLESS!!!
Matthew and I have spent this past weekend looking for Laminate floors for our downstairs. We've been to 6 different places. I found one that I liked but it was waaaay over our budget. I called 4 different places today and looked on the internet. I FOUND IT!!!! I found it on the internet http://www.carpet-wholesale.com/ !!!! I bought it!!! The cost first started at $2.99 and I got it for $1.69!!!!!!! I'm sooooo stinkin excited!!!! My dad was a little skeptical but he's old skool and doesn't like buying off the internet. The warehouse is in Dalton, GA.

Happy Valentines Day!
As I said on Crystal's blog I'd rather my hubby do little things all year long than just on Valentines Day when its most expected. Luckily my hubby does do little things all year long for me.
We normally buy each other a very small something but nothing ever big. This year I got him a card and a puzzle to do together (500 pieces). I broke out the puzzle last night b/c all the kids went to bed early b/c they weren't feeling good - you never know when that will happen so you have to take advantage of it when it does happen! LOL We actually sat in my office/computer room and listened to praise and worship music. It was really nice.
Matthew's birthday is Feb 19th so I always try to do something extra special for his b'day. This year he says he wants us to get a TV for our bedroom - we'll see!

Darcy Bug
Her latest thing is to put on her bathing suit and repeat over and over "we're going to the beach one day"
This picture was taken while she was talking to my mom on speaker phone while sitting on top of my desk.

the little ones are still sick and matthew has joined them. Jessica and I are the only sick free folks in the house. one of the moms from the playdate called me this morning to tell me she took her boys to the doctor today and they have the flu. grrrrrreat!
i totally forgot to pay my ticket. its due tomorrow. i had a friend 'working' on it but i never heard back from him so i guess it didn't go my way. i called today to check the amount and was told i had to pay it with a money order! so now i have to go get a money order.

Tips for Parents
Tips for dealing with children and the flu
Thursday, February 07, 2008
Dr. Steve Baldwin, assistant medical director for the emergency department at Children's Hospital, spends much of his time talking with parents about children who are sick with the flu.
Here are common concerns he deals with:
Fever. While fevers are a sign of illness, they are also part of the body's immune response. "The fever in itself is not a harmful thing," Baldwin said. "The fever will go up and down no matter what you do. Tylenol and Motrin will make it less miserable. But the height of the fever is fairly high in kids. In general those things are not particularly serious issues."
Fluid intake. "If they're drinking enough so they're urinating at least a couple times a day or better, that's usually sufficient to tide them over," Baldwin said.
When to get help. "It's important to react if they're ... progressively acting sicker," he said. Contact a physician, or go to an emergency room.
"The things to particularly worry about is if they get short of breath, they're not awake or alert or they're not drinking enough and are getting dehydrated," Baldwin said.
Curing the flu. "In general there's nothing terribly dramatic in that regard," Baldwin said. "There are some drugs, but they are a little controversial about when to use them." Different doctors will give different answers about these antiviral drugs depending on a child's condition.
Forget about antibiotics. They don't work on the flu, which is a virus. Antibiotics work on bacterial infections. Dave Parks --

Are you kidding me!?!
I got a call yesterday from one of the mommy's that were at the play date. Two of the kids there are sick now. Today I can add my three little ones to the list!
I haven't broken out the breathing treatments..... yet anyways. Right now they're running fevers, sneezing and sounding congested. Darcy has coughed a tad.
Business has really picked up this week... I'm not going to get much done with sick ones!

What a morning!
I had just fallen back to sleep after making sure Matthew was up when all the sudden I'm wide awake and heading down stairs. WHY? B/c the tornado sirens were going off!!!! We sat in front of the TV for a while. We weren't sure if we wanted to wake everyone up or just wait and see. I know that sounds silly. But at that time the tornado was just entering our county and wasn't due to come through our area for another 30 minutes or so. I went back and forth from the front porch to in front of the TV. At some point Jessica woke up to get ready for school and I told her to wait. It came time for Matthew to leave for work but I didn't let him leave :) The tornado was heading in our direction but all along the path to work there were MAJOR thunderstorms. He called his boss and his boss told him to hold off until he checked on the site. Finally sometime close to 7 we were all clear. By this time I was ready for bed!! LOL. B/c the weather was still shakey north of us I told Jessica today was a good day to stay home. Its almost 10am and she's still in bed! I just woke up myself ;) wink wink ;) Matthew and I laid down while waiting to hear back from his boss and just as Matthew drifted off the phone rang! LOL His boss told him the place was flooded and to stay home. So now he's working Saturday - yuck. So everyone's home today and we're just going to relax.
Jamie - Does your hubby have to go into the station like all the weather people do when its bad weather????
