I've lost count...
Of how many times we've watched the Polar Express in the last 2 weeks! Darcy loves this movie!!!!! I'm sick of it!!!!!!
just keep swimming
Sometimes I feel like I blog just for me... and then sometimes I just hope that someone actually cares to see whats going on with me.
Jessica and I went Christmas shopping last night. I had a plan. LAST christmas I got a gift card for the mall that I still had some money left on it. A few months back I was at Lane Bryant (the one in alabaster) and I found a sweater that I wanted... well my sister and mother were with me and they both said they didn't like it. So I let them talk me out of getting something I wanted!!!!!! Now let me explain something right here... I NEVER like anything they like so why would I let them tell me not to get something!?!?! who knows! Anyways so I've been wanting to go back and get that sweater but didn't want to spend money on myself during Christmas. Soooooo... last night I went to Lane Bryant to get my sweater... BUT they didn't have it anymore!! I looked over the entire store (which I do not like the new look to the store) but couldn't find it! I couldn't find one thing I liked!!!!!
I ended up buying myself a new purse from sears(i've wanted one for a while now... the last purse I got was a maroon granny lookin purse that Jessica got me 2 christmas' ago... I asked for red and got maroon! Okay... so I got myself a cool new black - NON GRANNY LOOKIN - purse AND i bought Jessica a pair of shoes with my gift card.
Let me tell you about the shoes.... I spotted them on clearance. She needs some dressy black shoes to wear on chapel day. I showed them to her and of course she didn't like them. She's at that age where she doesn't like ANYTHING I pick out!!!!!!! I made her try them on. I really wanted her to get them but I knew as long I liked them it wasn't going to happen.... so I changed my mind ;) I told her nevermind b/c the heal looked to high. She was determined then that she was going to like them. And I was laughing on the inside! She got them and we're both happy! LOL
We also got some Christmas shopping done. Oh... and we ate at the Olive Garden - yummy!

WHAT?!?
Matthew went and got our WIC the other day... in case you're not familiar with the program is provides milk, cereal, peanut butter, juice and eggs to Women Infant and Children.
Anyways... by mistake he picked up FAT FREE peanut butter and it wouldn't allow him to get it. So the cashier (an older woman) sent the bagger to grab the right one. Well the bagger came back with 'crunchie' but the cashier kept saying he couldn't get that b/c it had bits of peanuts in it!!!! She kept asking Matthew if he was sure he could give them peanuts!!! Matthew said he wanted to be sarcastic to her but he just reassured her it was okay. Does she really not realize that Peanut Butter is PEANUTS!

Do you have a household notebook?
I love this website... you'll love it too!!!! GET ORGANIZED!!!
What's A Household Notebook?
Unlike a personal planner, which is designed for use by one person, a household notebook or family organizer serves as "command central" for an entire family. While each family's organizer will be unique, most are simple three-ring notebooks with several divider sections.
Most household notebooks include a telephone and message section, a divider for church, clubs or volunteer activities, travel, home management and finance. sections, medical information, and personal records like gift list and clothing size charts. At-home and homeschooling parents often add personal and family schedules to coordinate life with young children.
Because they're infinitely expandable, household notebooks become as distinctive as the family that uses them. A family with school-aged children involved in dance, music and sports will include organizer sections for rehearsal and practice schedules, summer activity ideas and video to-rent lists.
A two-career couple with pre-school children may add babysitter and day care dividers and an emergency telephone list to their household notebook.
Empty nesters will rely on packing checklists for vacations, home repair records and gift suggestion lists for far-flung. children.
Professional organizers recommend the concept. Deniece Schofield, author of Confessions of a Happily Organized Family, points out. that the "purpose of the family organizer is to hold and organize all of the papers that anyone in the house has to look at or refer to.".
In Totally Organized the Bonnie McCullough Way, writer Bonnie McCullough advises setting up a planning notebook, with sections for "calendar", "telephone", "money" and "people.". Bonnie advises adding. specific dividers to each section to personalize the planning notebook.
These organizing professionals know a good thing when they see one! By compiling and storing family information in a central location, life at home benefits. No more searching for scraps of paper or mislaid permission slips. They're always right where they belong: in the household notebook.

A little shocked and A little sick feelin'
I don't even know where to begin. I just found out that ANOTHER friends marriage has ended in divorce. I can name at least 4 couples that have been married as long as or just a little longer than Matthew and I have been that have gotten a divorce. Its sad. What's happening in the homes of these people? I can name even more that I've known over the years thats gotten a divorce or even more couples that are miserable in their marriage. This makes me sick!!!! Do people just give up... is it easier to run from problems then to deal with em? I know there's different stories for each divorce but the bottom line is someone along the way decided it wasn't worth it anymore! WHY!?!
If your marriage is on the rocks then its pretty safe to say your relationship with God isn't too far behind it!!!!!
You need to talk to each other and to God!
You have to be willing to admit your wrongs not just point out all of their wrongs!
Don't keep bringing up the past! Move forward!
Don't be prideful... get HELP!!!!!!!!!! Marriage counseling is a good thing.

Mouse trap
We've had a mouse in our house for a few weeks now. I can't remember if I already told you about it or not. For about 3 days in a row it would make an appearance at the same place same time. And for 3 days in a row during nap time you'd hear me knocking things over trying to kill the mouse!!!! I called the pest control man and he set up some sticky traps but no luck. Finally it disappeared for a week. I'd thought the little thing had found its way back outside!
Saturday night after work Matthew and I decided to watch "Wild Hogs" (we didn't finish so don't spoil it for me). During the movie we spotted the mouse! It ran from behind the entertainment center to the tree, under the couch and then under the loveseat! Matthew chased it from place to place while I jumped from safety to safety! We had it cornered under the loveseat and placed the sticky traps around it. He caught it!!!!! Wheeew.... The little thing made so much noise! He asked me what he was supposed to do with it now. I told him to leave it outside to die and then we'd throw it in the outside garbage. He didn't want to kill it!!!!!!!! Can you believe this???? He wanted to get it off the trap! I wasn't very nice at this point. I told him it was a M O U S E !!!! I said if he let it go then it would come right back into the house!!!!! He went outside with it and the next thing I know he's coming back inside fussying! I asked him what he did with it and he said IT BIT HIM! Okay so I'm freaking out now thinking he's going to get some disease and die! I'm screaming at him b/c I'm sooo mad that he would try and pull the thing off the trap!!!!! All I kept thinking was he was going to die from some disease he caught from a mouse!
Thankfully it didn't bite him hard/deep enough to cause any problems. It bit him hard enough to draw some blood but thats about it. The next day you couldn't even see where it had bit him. I teased him but eventually apologized for being so ugly about it. He's a good person... he loves all things :) Even nasty lil ole mouses!

Not sure where to begin
My uncle passed away on Monday. We had the funeral yesterday. It was pretty sad. He was a loner so there weren't many people there... maybe 20 total.
Sam and Tiffany came into town Monday morning around 2am. They brought their two boys with them. Justice, almost 4 and Zeke 18 months. The kids all played well together. They stayed until Wednesday... not long enough. I already miss them!!!! They had the opportunity to see one of Jessica's basketball games while they were here... too bad Jessica didn't play! LOL We spent a lot of time just talking. Its the 2nd year they've come down after Thanksgiving... a new tradition definitely!
I worked Tuesday night. Wednesday night I had to be a the funeral home. Yesterday was the funeral and last night we hung out at my parents house and visited with people. Tonight I have to work. Tomorrow my hubby is going to help my parents get my uncle's stuff from prattville. Tomorrow night I have to work. Sunday is church. We really could use some down time!!!!! But I don't see it happening anytime soon.
I've gotten a lot of Christmas shopping done but not finished. We have our tree up. The boys bring us ornaments. They're were throwing toys into the tree but they've stopped that now. We've gotten some of our outside stuff up but not all of it. I'm not sure if we'll have time to get it all up this year. I can't wait till after Christmas so I can buy MORE decorations. I love Christmas decorations... I love decorating for all of the holidays!!! In fact, I've got rubbermaid bins in the barn marked with different holidays. I'm building up my collection slowly.
Well I have some stuff to do during nap time. Gotta run!

Prayer
My mom's younger brother died this morning. He lived in Prattville all alone. He was only 50. He never went to the doctor but on Thanksgiving he called 911 because he was coughing, puking, peeing and pooping blood. He was diagnosed with sir row sus of the liver (sorry thats the only way I know how to spell it so you'll know what I'm talking about). They kept him pretty sedated over the last few days b/c he had all sorts of things hooked up to him and they didn't want him to try and take anything off. My mom was the only family he had left. She's having to deal with a bunch of stuff right now... stuff that I cannot mention here... much more than the normal having to plan a funeral. Please pray for her.
