JUST DO IT!

I'm forcing myself to get up and get going!!!!!! The kids have been asleep since 11:30 and its almost 3. I hear them moving around upstairs. I wish I could say that I've used the time wisely but I didn't. I surfed the net, watched tv and ate. I need to get moving!!!!!!!!!!!

10 Random Things About Me

1. I MUST use q-tips as soon as I get out of the shower. I also put baby powder under my boobs and in my butt crack to keep things from feeling sweaty! LOL

2. I clean the lint between my toes everynight before getting into bed. I clean the lint from my hubby's belly button too!

3. I cry easily.... commericials, songs, sad stories, movies whatever

4. I wear flip flops while sweaping the kitchen b/c I don't want stuff to stick to my feet.

5. I brush my teeth in the shower.

6. I really love to sing but I'm horrible!

7. I love to make lists.

8. Since I was little I always liked playing 'office' and till this day I still love to be busy with office work.

9. I wish that I could do different things with my hair. I've thought about going to cosmetology school just so I could learn different ways to style my hair.

10. I love to buy stuff... even its just going to the grocery store. Sometimes I just feel the need to spend money.

Article on Rick Burgess written by Jim Dunaway

Subject: article on Rick Burgess Written by Jim Dunaway - B'Ham area sportstalk host

I have spent 22 years in broadcasting and 44 years on earth, and I saw the most amazing thing I have ever seen Tuesday. Standing graveside at a private ceremony, my wife and I saw a family bury their 2 year old son Bronner. A few hours later, we sat with friends in a special section as a sanctuary filled with hundreds of people. I saw a Church choir fill to capacity, every one of them having taken the day off from work. I sang, and I cried, I wrapped my arms around my wife as if someone was trying to steal her away. Then one of the most powerful Christian Rock groups walked on stage and continued to worship. All of this was powerful, but the amazing part was still to come. I saw a man who I had watched bury his son at 11am, stand and deliver a message. It wasn't a message of sorrow. It wasn't filled with tears. It was a message of salvation. It wasn't just about the salvation of his son, but a message for all of us. People came to know our Lord Jesus Christ for the first time. Others, like my wife and I, recommitted our lives to Serving and walking with our Lord Jesus Christ. If you listen to the show, you know I am a very emotional person. When I heard the news of Bronner's drowning Saturday night, I cried. I cried off and on Sunday and Monday and up to that amazing moment Tuesday shortly after two. Then the tears went away. I had never been that close to the Face of God before. He was in that place like I have never witnessed. I witnessed the power of God fill a man who was broken by the death of his baby. I saw that power fill his legs and lift him on stage and then fill his lungs and allow him to share a message that lasted 20 minutes but it seemed to be timeless. I promise you I could have listened forever. Again, I am sure it was God speaking through Rick Burgess' mouth. I was awestruck. When my wife and I entered the private dinner after the memorial service, I just wanted to say goodbye and do the usual, "We'll be praying for you" message... but not on this day. Maggie and I walked up to Rick and Sherri, we hugged, we exchanged a few words, and then Rick and Sherri wrapped their arms around Maggie and me and we prayed specifically for our family and our salvation. Notice the wording there, Rick and Sherri wrapped their arms around us... that is not a misprint. 4 hours earlier, they had buried their son and they were wrapping their arms around us. God is Great. It was an AMAZING DAY. Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.

graphic email

I sent out an email today that I had gotten from another parent. It had pictures from a car accident of a young man that had been killed while texting on his cell phone. The pics were pretty graphic. The man was cut in half. I wasn't trying to offend anyone by forwarding this email. I was really just trying to pass the message of pay attention. I received several different responses about it. So if you received my email and were offended - i'm truly sorry. It was not my intentions.

Recently I had asked some young people about texting while driving and I was very shocked to hear them say that they did it all the time. Maybe getting that email will prevent at least one person from doing something other than driving while driving.

One of these days!

One of these days I'm going to break down and buy us some outdoor furniture! I've been saying this for a while now but seriously we need some!!! At our old house we used to eat outside all the time. But I stored it at my sisters house while we lived in our inlaw's basement and my sister's dog tore it up. I have the little ones a little tykes picnic table but I really want something nice so we can entertain people during the spring and summer months.

beds

I found some really nice platform beds today while looking on the internet. I really need to find the boys some twin size beds. I was given some bunk beds that were matthew's when he was a child but there's too much work that needs to be done on them. I think I'm going to end up buying them just twin size beds. I really like the idea of them having bunk beds but they won't be able to sleep on them for a while.

Work It Girl!

We've got sooo much fitness equipment in our barn but we never use it!!!! Its a shame. I've also got several work out videos that I just HAD to HAVE!!! But I don't use those either. I really need to get on the ball!

Wanna hear something really funny.... when i get in those work out modes I always go and buy me a special work out outfit! LOL... like shopping motivates me into working out. Well at least I'll look cute!

YIKES!

My sister's husband is highly allergic to bee stings. He should wear a medical id bracelet but he doesn't. Any sort of insect bites to him are waaaaaay harsher on him than on me. I've seen his whole hand swell up before over an ant bite!!!!

One time I tried to swat at a wasp in the house and it stung the fire out of me. A few days later I got attacked in my front yard while trimming the hedges!!! I hate wasp/bees!!!!

Flat Screen

Jessica got a 19" flat screen tv for Christmas from her dad's parents. Right now we have it sitting on top of her book case but I really need to get a tv wall mount for it.

Matthew and I said that after Christmas we were going to buy ourselves a flat screen for our bedroom but we haven't yet. Too many other little things have come up. Maybe with our tax refund we can buy one. I like the Walmart brand Vizio. They've got really good reviews.

The Cat in the Hat

First Thing

When we got home from driving Jessica to school I started unloading everyone... Jacob was first then Jeremiah. As I opened the door to let Jeremiah in Jacob met me with a water down glass of coke that I'd left on the coffee table. He was trying to give it to me. He had it lifted over his head and just as I went to grab it.... it went all over him!!!! From the top of his head, all over the front of him and then on the floor. Needless to say we started the day off with a bath... and there's no such thing as just giving one child a bath... they all join!

Content

This has been a somewhat normal week. No overtime. Yippie!

I was able to go to Jessica's basketball game on Monday and I'm going to another one tonight. There's only one more left after today's game. She's been working on her science project. I hate those things but luckily my MIL is able to help her out.

Darcy is officially potty trained. I'm so proud of her. We've had ZERO - NONE accidents. I'm probably about to jinx myself but she's done sooooo well. She's wore panties the whole time... even overnight! She is very quick to inform you she is NOT a baby but a big girl! I'm so proud of her. Now if I can only figure out how to keep clothes on her besides just her panties!! That kid stays in her panties all day every day. And when you put her clothes on its only moments later that she's undressing herself!

The boys are free to roam these days. We keep the doors shut to rooms they can't go in but for the most part they go up and down the stairs or where ever else. They love playing in Darcy's room.... until she shuts the door and refuses to let them out! LOL

I got a phone call from my attorney boss yesterday. He said he was told by one of our clients that we would be getting somewhere between 20 to 30 closings next month. THATS BIG!!!!! Esp since I get paid per closing!!!! Its all b/c of the drop in interest rates... now's a good time to refinance!!! We're looking into it ourselves!

Have you heard of...

This is NOT a payu2blog post... I was on the website for puritan's pride and found this MUST HAVE drug. I need it for 'other' things but I was seeing how it was supposed to be really good for infertility and was thinking... 'man if i took this and it zapped my birth control it would not be good'... I'll have to do some more research to see if it will wipe out the effects of my BC.

Thats my girl!

On Tuesday Darcy got herself dressed and then insisted on going outside... no I didn't let her out like this!!

Shocking

I hate to hear about any young person's death but this really bothered me. I rarely see actors/actresses as real people but these days its hard not to b/c you seem them in the news more than you see them in the movies. I loved Heath Ledger... very talented and what a handsome guy! One of my all time favorite movies is 10 Things I hate about you. I hope they find out what happened in his last few hours. I really hope its not as bad as everyone wants to make it out to be. I wish people could keep all spectulations to themselves until we know for sure.... its like they just can't wait to bash someone instead of taking a moment to honor them or give their families a moment to grieve them.

Nap time

Today I fed the kids lunch and put them down like normal... somewhere between 11:30 - 12:00. Darcy got up several times but finally stayed in her room. I think by this time is was 1:30 or something. Jacob has cried off and on the entire time. I don't know that he ever went to sleep. I checked on him several times just to make sure we hadn't gotten a limb stuck between the rails. Jeremiah is sleeping. He's my sleeper. At night when its time to bed all you have to say is 'bedtime' and he'll start going up the stairs! Love it!

I hope they're not getting ready to skip naps. Do you kids take naps still???? At what age did they stop?

Prayer for Cody

Please continue to keep Cody in your prayers. My sister has been really upset lately about him.... (completely understandable). She doesn't want to be alone with him. Apparently the other day's seizure was a BIG one and it really freaked her out. Please keep her in your prayers too. She's afraid to take her eyes off of him. Pray that the Lord would give her a peace.

Thank you Jesus for our snow!

I woke up this morning around 4 something for my routine potty trip. I peaked out the bathroom window hoping to find snow but it was only raining!! I was mad. Matthew woke up around 7:30 and I asked him to look again. I really wasn't expecting him to tell me "Its snowing like crazy!" I jumped out of bed and begin getting dressed. We both decided to get dressed before we woke up the little ones... good plan! We took pictures of us waking up Darcy (sorry you'll have to scroll all the way down b/c I posted my pictures backwards). She was sooo excited. Finally about an hour later everyone was dressed HA! We headed outside but didn't get very far out the door before Darcy dropped down and began making snow angels!!!!!! We played outside for a long time. Jeremiah liked it more than Jacob. Jacob went inside early.

At one point when we were outside Darcy turned to me and said "thank you mommy for my snow!" I said "Don't thank me thank Jesus, he made it." She turned her little face up towards the sky and said "Thank you Jesus for my snow!" How sweet!

There were times when the snow was coming down heavy and I was thrilled. I'm such a big kid!!!

We went inside for lunch and when we returned with dry clothes the snow had fallen so much that our earlier tracks were covered! It snowed continuely until 1:30pm!!!

Right now Darcy is taking a bubble bath. Jeremiah is still asleep. Jacob is getting into whatever he can find. Jessica is at her nana's (they came around noon to get her). Matthew is reading. I'm blogging! Potatoe soup is cooking and my folks are on their way!

Happy Snow Day everyone!!!!

Jeremiah

He's not as near as messy as Jacob!

We went inside for lunch and came back out and our tracks from earlier were covered up!!! The snow is starting to melt. We're heading out again before its slush.
