Miracles

Guess what?!?!

Last night I....

put my hair in a ponytail AND

Cut it off!!! Yep I sure did!

Lets just say I was having a moment. I hadn't had my hair cut in almost 3 years and I was tired of it. I guess I thought it might look okay... I was wrong! The front is long and the back is short! I was able to find someone in Jemison that could fix it for me today... the name of the place is Miracles.... i'm praying for one!!!!

Out in the country past the city limits sign...

can you guess that song??? is it stuck in your head now??? GOOD! LOL

One day I was outside and a car full of highschool aged guys came by with their radio blasting... do you know what song was blasting? No not Boot Scootin (sp) Boogie!!! It was Def Leppard - Pour some sugar on me. I started laughing... that song is 20 years old!!! It is already considered an oldie??? I just thought it was funny that some teenagers were listening to DEF LEPPARD! Dorks! These are the same guys that came by a few days later listening to Freebird! HA!

Happy Birthday Denise

Okay so I'll admit I'm not exactly sure what date your birthday is on... I know its after my anniversary and I feel horrible. Hopefully you'll forgive for not knowing the exact date... but please tell me so I can get it right next year!

For the rest of you... Matthew and I met Denise (and her b'friend at the time) while we were on our honeymoon in New Orleans in Sept 2003. We actually met while on the graveyard tour... or was it call the voodoo tour. Anyways we ended up meeting them later that night for dinner. Here's the funny part... the whole time Matthew and I were in NO we looked at every menu (they're posted on the outside of the restaurants) before we went inside. On this particular night they had suggested a oyster type bar (we figured the cost would be okay) but when we got there the line was waaaay out the door. So Kevin leads us next door and straight inside with little to no wait. As I walked in the door I was thinking OMG!!! The place was N I C E and everyone was dressed up. We were led to our table where another waitor was waiting for us. WHITE TABLECLOTHES!!!!! They pulled out our chairs and placed our napkins in our laps... yea we were thinking OMG what have we gotten ourselves into!!!!! I don't recall seeing prices on the menu and half of the dishes were in another language!!!! They ordered oysters for an appetizer. Matthew and I split some dish with all different kinds of seafood... i remember squid being one of them... YUCK! So we ate and had a few drinks... we were really nervous to get the bill but before we knew it, it had been taken care of by Kevin and Denise... we were flabbergasted (sp). We continued from there to a little irish whole in the wall bar and listened to some guy sing old irish drinking songs. This was the last night of our honeymoon. But before we all went our separate ways we swapped phone numbers. And we've been friends ever since!

Denise even surprised me and flew down for Darcy's baby shower!!!!

Anyways, I'm sorry that I can't remember your birthday. I hope whenever it is/was you have/had a good one!!!!

A little bit of everything

Jessica and I spent the day in Selma, AL for a volleyball tournament. I'd never been there before and I will say that I will never go back!!!!!! On the way there we missed our turn and ended up taking the LOOOONG way which put us there right as her team started warming up!
They had 2 gyms.... both without air condition!!!!!! They were behind schedule all day which made for a really long day.
On they way out of Selma we got stopped by a redlight at a big intersection. On each corner they're were folks (black cause thats the majority down there) holding signs and collecting money. As we rode by them I caught a glimpse of a sign... it said.... GOD HATES GAYS!!!! OMG! I turned my car around and whipped into the parking lot... I was mad! I couldn't beleive that they were putting out a message like that AND people were giving them money!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had many other signs that said things like... GOD HATES WHORES AND CORRUPT LAW ENFORCEMENT! GOD HATES SINNERS! Yea, it was crazy! So I jump out of my car... not sure what I was thinking!!!!! I walked up to the lady and asked her if her sign said "GOD HATES GAYS?" She said proudly "YES!" I said "No m'am you got it wrong, God hates their lifestyle but LOVES them!" She quickly said "Are you a lesbian?" LOL "NO!" I tried to talk with this lady about God being a God of love and not hate... The talking part lasted all of about 30 seconds!!!! She started shouting all kinds of stuff... then the 2 kids with her started in on me. The boy was 8 and the girl was probably 12 or 13. Believe it or not I was calm for the most part but they were everything BUT calm! They were screaming at me that God said in Ecc 8:3 that "there's a time to hate"... I told that girl she was taking scripture out of context and that there's many other verses in the bible that talks about God's love. She said "what Bible do you read?" I said "the NIV" and she laughed and said that's the wrong one that I'm supposed to read the King James Version LOL!!!!!!!! This conversation/screaming match lasted for several minutes. The older lady said she was going to pray that God would give me the plague!!!! I laughed! She asked me if I was a christian and I said Yes! Then the girl said God only loves Christians... I tried to talk with them but I knew it was going no where and that they were looking for a fight and I wasn't giving it to them. So I started back to my car with the three of them on my heels. (((( Jessica was in the car the entire time)))) They were shouting things like GOD HATES ME!!!! and I was crazy and I was a whore... yea... they were crazy!!!!! Then the lady started saying "Jesus bind her up bind her up and send the plague on her" I said Lady you are CRAZY!!!!!!!!! I got in the car and they were on Jessica's side screaming at us... I told her to look forward and not to say a word!!! I had no idea (maybe i'm naive) that it would have turned out that way or else I wouldn't have stopped with my child in the car! We had to pull back onto the main road and we got stopped at the light so they continued to hold up their signs in our windows and scream at us!!!!! I felt sick! On the way home Jessica and I talked about God's love and all kinds of stuff. I guess something did come out of it cause even after I got home and I was telling Matthew... the three of us ended up sitting on the front porch talking about Jesus and stuff all night. The lesson I learned was... Just because its "In the name of the Lord doesn't mean its Of the Lord" AMEN!!!!!!! And that I needed to be prepared in season and out of season. I've been in a lot of places and shared Jesus with a lot of people but I've NEVER been in a situation like that before!!!!!

so thats my story of selma... and i'm never going back!

my hubby is sick... he's been sick since Saturday night. At first he said it was just allergies but now he says its not allergies... he feels yucky all over!!! And the worse part is... he won't take off work!

Matthew's great aunt is in town... she's a M E S S!!! I love her to death!! We hit it off right away when we first met. She's EIGHTY something years old and she acts like she's 30 something! She (and the rest of the brocks) are coming over for dinner Friday night. She hasn't seen our new house yet. They live in Dothan... sometimes they live in Eufala or Elamville but mostly its Dothan, AL.

The first time I met his Aunt Helen I had just woken up and needed a shower in a BAD way. I excused myself to take a shower and she said "Awe just take a PTA bath"... I asked "what's a PTA bath" and she said --- in front of the whole family!!!!! P*&&y, Tits and ASS!!!!! I bout DIED! gotta love her! When she came up for my wedding she gave me a pep talk about how to keep my man satisfied... yea she did!!!! I can see myself being a lot like her when I'm her age... FULL OF LIFE and ALWAYS SPEAKING MY MIND LOL!

My Kitchen... BEFORE

You are looking into my kitchen from the living room... just to the right is the stairs and on the others side of the wall on is the hallway... we are going to put a tile backsplash up above the counters, replace the countertops, tile the floor and find something to display in my glass cabinets and on the top of my cabinets... just not sure when this will all be done. Hope you enjoy the pics! Posted by Picasa

Before

We had already begun ripping down the wall paper and border when I realized I hadn't taken a before pic... but this is my eat in area of my kitchen and a glimpse of our living room which I'll show you more of later. Posted by Picasa

After

My favorite things are my collection of Will Rafuse art... My kitchen area is actually in the shape of a U... to the right of this cabinet is the hallway leading to the bathroom, computer room, laundry room and at the very end is Jessica's room. These pictures are actually hanging on the end of the cabinets which are open to the living room also on the right side. Posted by Picasa

After

This is my eat in kitchen... i love the windows.

Eventually we want to put tile down. Posted by Picasa

Busy Weekend Ahead

Tonight we plan on chilling at home. Matthew found out yesterday that he has to work Saturday... they're doing a shut down so he HAS to be there. Jessica has a volleyball tournament all day... they have to be at the gym early in the morning. I'm taking the little ones to my parents house. Then at noon I'm leaving the tournament, picking up the little ones and them dropping them off at the Brock's so I can go to Matthew Staggs' wedding at 2pm. Then I'll go back to the tournament till who knows when.

This post was just interrupted when Darcy walked into the computer room covered in BLOOD!!!!!! When I looked closer I realized it was modeling clay! SCARY!

I guess my weekend isn't as busy as it could be but I hate to be gone all day Saturday... and I hate that my hubby has to work... and I hate going to the wedding without him :(

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!!!

We've been together since March of 2001. We were engaged in November of 2002 and got married on September 13, 2003. Gave birth to Darcy November 16th, 2004 and had the boys on April 3rd, 2006. We've been blessed! We are currently living in our 2nd home... we outgrew our first home FAST! HA! I had a daughter from a previous relationship and ever since Matthew has been in the picture he's treated her like his very own. We are a very close and happy family! I'm looking forward to growing old with Matthew. Our love for each other and our children grow every day.

Survivor: Cooks Island

I set my timer for Survivor. Every week it will automatically record Survivor whether I'm here or not.

Last year I missed some episodes but not this year! I love survivor!!!

Two A Days

So have any of you watched any of the Two A Days on MTV? In case you didn't know its a really big highschool just down the road from me (well before I moved even further down the road). Its been all in the news here. The city of Hoover is sorda in shock of the way their coach acts. I know one episode I watched their team chaplin was making reference to football being their God. And in another episode the coach was really cocky saying he held the key to their future in his hands.

What are you thoughts on this show?

KCS KCS KCS

yea thats the chant we did ALL weekend long... along with a few others :)

Before we left we made a few goody bags for some of the girls. We also made some signs and decorated the car.

Jessica and I had a great time in Florence. She rode the bus up there which gave me some much needed alone time in the car. We got there around 9pm Thursday night. The JH had to be in their rooms by 10pm... Jessica was a little bummed b/c it was just her and I. But to our surprise we had visitors!!! 2 Varisity girls came and hung out in our room till their curfew. And you know Jessica was on cloud 9! She thought she was big stuff!

Friday was a long day. All of our teams did great. The JH was expected to win anything but just to have a learning experience. Most of the other teams the JH team played were actually waaaay older than them.

Friday night everyone went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Jessica and I ended up at the same table as 4 other Varisity girls... again, Jessica was waaaay excited. They all seem to like Jessica... she is pretty cute ya know :)

Saturday our JH team won its first ever match in Kingwood history!!!! They were beside themselves. Our JV team won 2nd place in their age group and our Varisity girls won the tournament!!!!!!!!!

We got home around 9 something Saturday night. Matthew was glad to see me and I was super glad to see him. Darcy and the boys were asleep. I tried to wake up Darcy but she was out cold!!!! Sometime in the wee hours of the morning she came into our room and I met her at the door. She ran to me with her little arms wide open and I held her forever!!!! I really missed them all. The next morning when I peeked over the sides of the cribs the boys started kicking their little legs... it was such a sweet feeling to know how much I was missed.

Matthew handled everything without a problem... not that I doubted him for one minute! He managed to give all the little ones a bath!!!!!! I was impressed!

Jessica has a game tonight at Kingwood and again Thursday in Columbiana. She has a tournament all day Saturday and at 2pm I have to sneak away to go to Matthew Staggs' wedding.

Lets See...

where should I begin?

One day last week while carrying Darcy up the stairs I fell... yep I hurt my left knee and right ankle... Darcy was fine. My knee has been bothering me ever since. It seems to be getting worse but I'm too cheap to go to the doctor... and stubborn too. The stairs are killing me!

Yesterday while cutting the grass I ran over something in the front yard... it made a really loud noise but I didn't think much of it UNTIL I made the loop back around and as I got closer to my explorer I realized what had happened... whatever it was that I ran over shot A C R O S S the yard and knocked out my passenger side window. There was tiny pieces of glass all over the place... I felt sick!

I called my insurance agent this morning. Its going to be cheaper for me to pay for it out of my pocket than to file a claim.... $180! It couldn't have been at a more worse time.... i'm leaving Thursday night for Jessica's volleyball tournament in Florence, AL (about 3.5 hours north). I would wait but I don't wanna drive it all the way up there with a garbage bag over the window.

On a more positive note... My parents, my sister and her family came over yesterday for a cook out. We threw a football in the yard while the kids rode bikes. It was a great afternoon to just relax outside.

Oh... Staci will be proud of this... Saturday I woke up and decided I'd visit the gargage sale down the street and then the consignment shop down the rode. At the gargage sale I spent $10... i got Darcy a pair of shoes, an outfit and a little thingy to ride on. I was pretty proud of myself until I got to the consignment shop.... There I spent another $10... but I got waaaaay more. I got one of those little cars that has the handle for the adult to hold on to ($4!!!) then I got Darcy another pair of sandals, a cute little jumper and I got the boys several little button up shirts from Old Navy and baby Gap.... Guess I should have stopped there first.

well thats all for now... leave me a comment if you want me to update otherwise I assume you've all lost interest ;)
